Martin this hollow form is just so beautiful the light wood and the grain is stunningly beautiful.
Martin, I really like your work. I am interested in your Martin Woodhead DIY Hollowing System!!
Beautiful hollow form and the hollowing jig was brilliant! - Ed
Thank you Ed, yes it's not a difficult thing to make and works well. thanks for watching.
You have more cool gadgets than Batman because you seem to have the engineering capacity of Wayne Enterprises at your disposal. Love your work.
Thank you for sharing your technique and your jig fixture. I clicked subscribed!
Lovely job on the hollow form, I like you, make a lot of my own tools and accessories and I find it gives a boost to your self satisfaction knowing what you've made with what you've made turns out well.👍👍👍
Not only a nice job but well done on creating your own hollowing jig. Just one question - does a stabiliser system like your jig really make that much of a difference? I ask because deep hollowing causes me some anxiety and I also find it quite knackering. Of course the anxiety and the fatigue could well be related!!
Thanks Ray. It sounds like you need one! The captive bar system takes away the stress of hollowing, particularly on larger pieces than this! 😊
Brilliant hollowing system! By the way, you have a new subscriber. Cheers from Sweden!
Thanks Den, yes it's not a difficult thing to make and works well. Thank you for subscribing.

Thanks for watching Richard. Not sure how I would do that but I will try.🤔😊
You make everything look so easy. I really like your hollower. What did you spray on the forstner bit when you were drilling? Thanks.
Martin it looks the BIZ 👍👍👍👍👍👍Have you by chance got any dimension's or diagrams of the deep hollower ????
No Douglas I used what I had and made it up as I went on, but I did make a video - th-cam.com/video/N84bA-DhCdE/w-d-xo.html
Also there are some upgrades I made on this video -

If you have any specific questions after watching these videos, I am happy to answer them.
As a none wood turner I am intrigue to know why you needed such a long handle. So long you built a support❓
It would be very difficult for me to explain but basically there is a large overhang at the cutting end which creates a lot of torque so you need a long lever to counter that force. Thanks for watching.
Brilliant! I'm building one over the winter. I'm curious, what are the dimensions of the tool handle?
Hi Micheal, sorry for the slow response. Handle dimensions are 40 x 55 x 760mm.
