"Love grows in this garden" truly is the perfect quote of the love, passion & dedication you pour in your delightful garden dear Kim 😊Loving your spectacular front porch with the vibrant colours of the Sunpatiens, Supertunia & Verbenas and those touches of lime green that truly make it come to life. The side garden has a lovely combination of peachy / yellow tones that goes so well with the blues / violets. I love how you stop at times to share with us a visiting bee or one of the elusive hummingbirds. I do understand your frustration at the Japanese beetles infestation that seems to have spared your beautiful rose garden. I may have a tip to contain these awful pests from damaging your beautiful garden as they seem to dislike Catnip, Garlic & Chive but most importantly Geranium as the bright flowers are toxic for the beetles who will be paralysed 24h after eating them so having a few Geraniums / Pelargoniums might help. Your hardy hibiscuses are truly spectacular. Your lawns are a so immaculate & green. I love the vibrant Echinaceas of your side garden. There is so much to see & love 😊💚
Everything is just beautiful, but I LOVE the west side garden; especially, the Primal Scream day lily against all the blue! Stunning! ( Mary Hardy- Kannapolis, NC)
Kim, I use bags that I hang on a shepherd’s hook for the nasty terribly invasive Japanese Beetles! There’s a wafer that attaches to the bag that attracts the bettles. It really works. When the onset of beetles happened in my garden they demolished my vermillionaire. Glad to see yours is still living!!!
Hi kim🌺 . Wonderful tour at your garden it looks stunning . I lovet . Kim for bugs try dish soap with water and sprinkle the roses . Have a great day .🌺🌻🌺
Gorgeous, not way can I pick a favorite,I do have plant envy……I could not find Raspberry cone flowers. I just come in from removing Japanese Beetles,I am over soap and water,I just wear a old pair of gloves and pinch they were on my pink cashmere verbena 😱But I also had baby bumblebees I had to look twice at first to be sure I wasn’t getting them. You have put so much work in your garden and it definitely shows. I am shocked what comes back for you in annuals ,I am 4 hours from you they 7b but we are definitely 7a Thank you for sharing 🍃🌿
Love the west side garden I also love the rose garden 🤷♀️ you are an inspiration to me as I am starting over from scratch in my new garden with little space. This clay soil is hard work so I won’t be doing much flowers in the ground now.
Canyon Creek Abelia is a multi-stemmed evergreen shrub with a mounded form. Its average texture blends into the landscape, but can be balanced by one or two finer or coarser trees or shrubs for an effective composition. This shrub will require occasional maintenance and upkeep, and should only be pruned after flowering to avoid removing any of the current season's flowers. It is a good choice for attracting birds, bees and butterflies to your yard, but is not particularly attractive to deer who tend to leave it alone in favor of tastier treats. It has no significant negative characteristics.Canyon Creek Abelia is recommended for the following landscape applications;Mass PlantingGeneral Garden UseContainer Planting This is copied from Calloway. Hi, Kim! I loved this tour and it’s hard to choose which garden I like the best, but guess it would be the west side garden. I love the front garden too with the pink cashmere showing out! There are just so many beautiful things to see. It’s exciting to see all the flowers you grew from seed; they’re gorgeous! Do you think those back yard hanging containers aren’t doing as well since they have so many plants in them? Just a thought. Anyway, love love love your gardens! 🌺🌸🌼❤️🩷
Kim, since I stopped fertilizing my lawn and I only use organic. I haven’t seen Japanese Beatles. I’m not sure if that helped but I was infested with Japanese beetles. Just an FYI, honey.

Beautiful tour! It’s a toss up between the front yard and the west side garden. I’m a sucker for a coneflower and One In Mellon is my favorite.

I see Abelia a lot in the nursery. Also most builders abuse that shrub in our neighborhood. However maybe this type is special and I look for it.

I have always put in a lot of plants. Last year they did great. I think it’s a off year for Calibrachoa
Congratulations! You are over 7000 subs 🎉🎉🎉

Can you share what you put on your lawn. I know like chicken feed, and compost.
Ask Jenni at Gardencreek she has a treatment for the Japanese Beetles
Yeah I used it. Maybe worse if I hadn’t used it. The tree drench.
Have you tried the Japanese beetle traps on the edge near the common area in addition to treating the soil?
No I’m actually a little afraid to do that. I have been told so many different opinions in the bags
Are you supposed to deadhead Guara? Thank you! I love your channel!
@@NonnieTD I am just starting to deadhead mine to get another flush of blooms

I’ll do more of both.
I love all the closeups! Each plant is so beautiful and intricate 🌸🌼🥰 Thank you for sharing your beautiful garden with us!
I like the front garden. Please be careful about divulging military member living there. ❤️
I can’t get petunias to flourish for anything. What do you do?
Plant with compost, proven winners slow release and follow up with proven winners continuous release. Do you buy PW petunias?
What are the low growing evergreens before you reach your rose of Sharon?
Maybe nepeta or sedum. Is the only thing I can think of that you might be referring to.
I think you be speaking of her Sprinter Boxwoods.
@@BACKYARDBLOOMSWITHKIMit is some type of juniper.

Why don’t you place a beetle trap out near the common area. Abe it will keep them away from your stuff. Just a thought.
I might break down and do it. I just always hear the bag brings more. I guess if there dead it doesn’t matter right?
In your front yard … how many superbena cashmeres did you plant?
2 on the corner and 3 in the front. I’m super surprised they have gotten so big. I thought I would see way more white from the mini vista Supertunia’s
