Before anyone thinks of getting a bird you need to do your research.
Rainbow Lorikeets are not typically a 'pet' species and require a lot of patience and love, but the rewards of earning their trust and getting to bond and share life with them is an unique, rewarding and incredible experience.
I would not trade it for anything in the world.

My lil Lorikeet doesn't like getting scratches but she is ALWAYS trying to wrestle me, I swear she charges at my hand and rolls around just to get me to play fight with her. When she burns up all her energy she will sit there as a lil fluff ball happily cleaning herself on me or waiting until I'm not paying attention to try and sneak places she knows she's not allowed to go (For her own safety mind you).

Mine doesn’t like scratches either, although sometimes he lets me stroke him gently. Strange little personalities sometimes - but they are the most wonderful pets.
