"High School Jim is, Steve Patrick on vocals, Peter Rosch on bass, Matt Peccini on drums, Craig "Sven" Gordon on guitar, and I on vocals and guitar. We wrote, played, sang, and recorded this track in my control room, in one day. I mixed it to sound like a live performance, and that was it! Musically, this song is genuinely and unironically great.
I'm usually not into hardcore punk, but this does the whole Pixies "loud quiet loud" think so that the hardcore parts hit extra hard.
The backing vocals also add a lot to the verses, especially in the end where they sound a lot like the harmonies of Van Halen's Michael Anthony.
