Great video! I have great memories of VRSA. I have been there several times over the years. For great seafood we always go to the fisherman's pier by the Guadiana. The fishermen had a set up a few tables beside their shack. On a long ice-laden table the day's catch was on display. You went up, picked your fish and they grilled it for you. Along with a couple of bottles of chilled Monsaraz, it was heaven. My cousin was there only last year, so it must still be there.
Another great area even closer to VRSA is Odeleite with the fantastic lakes and still being close to the river. It's better to cross the bridge to Spain and shop at Lidl or Mercadona, they both have a better selection at 2/3rds the price and of course fuel is cheaper as well.
Hey Nick- great video. This is what Portugal needs i.e. showcasing the “non-touristy “ spots. The days of easy entry are now thankfully behind us which in my opinion did not help the local Portuguese population, especially when it came to housing.

I really enjoy the history in your videos. They were just celebrating (Sept-8) the reconquest in Santa Ponsa from 1229. I’m trying to figure out if the Moors were just absorbed into the main population or they fled. Pretty, small town. Love the EV (yes, infrastructure is mandatory). Thanks for today’s video. PS: No, Alcoutim is too remote (and I don’t speak Portuguese)…
Santa Linda in Majorca? You'll find that the Moors sometimes fled and some remained. There was a big movement to "Christen" both the remaining Moors and the Jews during the Inquisitions which happened in both Spain and Portugal.
Love, love, love my EV. It would kill me to go back to ICE. If you sign up to Miio you get a card which you prepay, just connect and tap the card to charge.
Great video. Well shot, and I've always wondered about the zip line, thanks. PS The real estate across the river in Spain, 30 metres away, is half the price. Portugal needs to allow more land to be built on to bring prices down. It's that simple - and as someone who has ridden 30,000 km around the Algarve interior on my motorbike, I know at first hand how much empty land is available...
Get in touch and we can talk about prices relevant to you. Its always tricky to relate to the whole internet. Everyone's budget is completely different.
So this beautiful place, will be like the others. Another expat's village full of american. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against expats, as long as they don't distroy the culture. Unfortunately, where expats go, the villages looks all the same everywhere.
You seemed surprised by your electric car experience??? Why? Was the monumental con the "green" manufacturers have perpetrated so difficult to see coming?
This could change Alcoutim radically! www.theportugalnews.com/news/2024-10-16/green-light-for-new-spain-portugal-bridge/92880
Used the miio app when I was there. Worked a treat..........great video as always
Thanks, we'll check it out next time. 🙏🏼
gorgeous...love this area!!
Looks like the type of place to perfect one's Portuguese due to talking to the locals over a coffee every day. Beautiful! Nice to see this area.

I thought you would show us some properties??
Thank you for sharing.
Castrom Marim is one of my targets...
It's small, but lovely. Did you have a look at my castle video featuring Castro Marim? th-cam.com/video/6JtSkz-4GoY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0VOCVX9_gUS8ldD3
🥰 good memories made on that river beach 🏖️

@@AlgarveAddicts thanks Nick 🥰
400 peeps is too small! Would love to see you visit VRSA area & show some properties.
I did this a long time ago: th-cam.com/video/_h36c5hJRB0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=MjLSURqvXk36JI-S
Noooooo
I wouldn't live there but I'll go to Zipline from country to country?
It's fun for sure!
I want to move here! Find me a small stone home, or a plot of land with some fruit trees! ❤❤
Sure, get in touch if you need help www.algarveaddicts.com
Now it's going to be full of English thank you so much. What a pity
You're welcome, but I'm not THAT influential. Thanks though 👍🏽
Sorry? Half a mil for what? Portuguese have gone crazy and trying to cash in on worthless property, it's such a shame

Disliked- you talked 60sec about properties and prices bro 😂

@@AlgarveAddicts understand, but your title was at best misleading. More likely clickbait

Not necessarily...
Thank you Nick. We weren’t aware of this lovely town north of VR de SA
