Right! Aussies and a lot of British people would do that. I’m British and I currently live in the US and truthfully Americans wouldn’t do that. Idk if they are scared that the perpetrator has a gun but they don’t really do anything apart from ignore or call 911. They wouldn’t make this much of an effort lol.

@@lauren9004 yes I'd suspect you're probably right and it has a lot to do with gun crime in the US. There, the first thing they are probably thinking is that "that perpetrator probably has a gun I need to stay safe" whereas in other places you might think "this person needs help" before you even consider there might be weapons involved. Although I believe this crime was before the gun ban laws existed in Australia. However, the 80s were also a very different time

I read a book a while ago on this case and her husband went through a lot. She was the love of life, and he changed his name due to the guilt and association it had, he got into drugs and then spent a long time hiding from knowing the details of the case. I think a few years ago, maybe 2013-2017, he changed his name back and has watched documentaries on it and learned about the case. The book is titled “Remembering Anita Cobby” and its fairly new book, from 2015?

I’ve only started the video so idk if this fact is mentioned, but when the boy followed the car to the field with an adult, they saw an abandoned car on the side of the road by the field, which was the same model as the car that kidnapped Anita Cobby. The boy and adult didn’t see anyone around the car, they shone the torch onto the field and saw nothing, so they left. It turns out that the killers heard the car of the boy and adult pull up, and they all got on the floor and covered Anita’s mouth, they saw a torch shine onto the field and stayed hidden on the floor and saw the two people leave. If only the two people had shone their torches down further, they would have seen the killers hurting Anita Cobby and she may still be alive today 💔

It’s not the content so much as it’s the fact that Bella’s voice is like taking a sedative. I have to work while I listen or plan to take a nap and rewatch the video at least twice because within a couple minutes I am asleep. I’m not complaining though, I have a very hard time falling asleep so her videos are informative and well done while I’m working and saves me from taking a pill to get to sleep at night. Win-win! Also, her bubbly personality always makes me smile. I actually watch all of her sponsors because her goofy personality comes out and cracks me up! Don’t get to see much of that once she gets into the heavy content of that day’s video.
Keep up the great work Bella! You are doing a phenomenal job.

I’ve also read that the police officers were so horrified by how they found her and what had been done to her, that many officers were actually crying at the crime scene. It’s just such a tragic and horrific piece of history. So absolutely heartbreaking.

You hear cases like LuluLemon and so many people heard her screaming and calling for someone to help her and they just decided they didn’t want anything to do with “their drama” and did nothing at all while that poor young woman was brutalized and murdered! I hear way too many cases where this happens and it blows me away that people are so self centered that they can’t even be bothered to call the police. You don’t even have to be involved past dialing 3 numbers and giving a the location, you can call it in anonymously! It always makes me feel just a little bit better to know that there are some decent human beings left out there. I pray that those poor boys weren’t too traumatized by the fact that they weren’t able to find her and save her. I hope they take some comfort in at least having tried and that they ultimately did the right the right thing even if it didn’t have the desired outcome.

This case is so heartbreaking and disturbing! Bella, I was wondering if you could do a video on the Zahra Baker case? The murder occurred in my hometown but Zahra and her father were actually both Australian. It’s a super heart wrenching case, particularly because Zahra seemed to have been abused by her parents before she went missing and her remains were found. She had also had bone cancer which resulted in her losing her leg, and if I’m not mistaken, the remains were found because of her prosthetic leg. It’s a case that really impacted my hometown and my childhood, and the ten year anniversary passed in 2020. It was presumed solved, but I know there’s different theories floating around and I haven’t seen many youtubers do a video on this case. It also attracted worldwide media coverage so I’m sure there’s a lot of info out there about it! Love your videos!
