Spike Traps continue to be very powerful against the Grimhorn, but the Ravagers are much quicker and therefore harder to hit. The environmental log traps in the Arena can be helpful, but they don’t deal nearly enough damage on higher levels.
On the hardest difficulties, you’re probably going to need to rely on your ropecaster and Elite Acid Traps. If you made it through From the Deep, you should have some experience with placing traps strategically so that they hit multiple enemies at once.
I use the same approach no matter the difficulty: Use the ropecaster (in combination with smoke bombs) to tie down all the enemies. Then place Elite Acid Traps next to them while they are immobilized. Use Spike Traps to explode both the enemy and the nearby traps. Repeat.
If you want to try a different strategy, you can attempt to remove a Ravager Cannon using your Seeker Hunter Bow. To do this effectively, you likely need to tie down the other enemies first. This approach may be too slow on Ultra Hard, however.
Tip: Use a smoke bomb before picking up any heavy weapons so that you can be sure to get a few clean shots off.

I know! They totally broke traps on PC for some reason. :-(

@@MrFancyPants Yeah it's annoying. I'm currently on Apex Drifters where i need to use Acid traps, it just wont work and I was able to finish the arena match way past the limited set time

I guess I know why they did this on the arena. People were glitching traps on the arena before enter on the challenge, so the machine passes through them and die before even starts. It's just a hunch.

@@LeonardoCoDBO That was never possible. There are other strategies to pre-kill the enemies, and those have (mostly) not been patched.
Traps are not just broken in the Arena-they are broken everywhere in the PC game. This is surely not intentional.

Just full send it with the Spikethrower, skip the preparing and just kill them with the explosives, rotate smoke bombs and large energy potions. (Worked for me)
