**As far as costing under $50 for the upgrade, I only included the cost of the four items below (IOT relay, microcontroller, hall effect sensor, USB charger), which, at the time of posting this only costs a total of $43 ($30 for relay+$5 for one microcontroller+$1 for one hall effect sensor+$7 for USB charger). Things like the 3D printed encloser and the jacks I soldered on the microcontroller are not strictly necessary to make this thing work. The only necessary items outside of what I have listed are wires and solder to solder the wires to the components. Any tools used to create the upgrade are considered a sunk cost and therefore not included in the total.
