I know I am late to the game on this video but major thumbs up on production values. Sound is on point and at a good level with minimal background and sounding professional. The dual camera angles is genius and would actually keep me coming back for more video as I know I would have a good view. You were thorough without being verbose in your scripting. Overall, very well done.
Thanks for your review. I snagged one during the Black Friday sales this year! Also plan on using this for the UMi Dry aging charcuterie bags that I also purchased.
Thank you for the detailed review. I read many comments online referring that even with long timing extractions the Anova Chamber could not eliminate all the air inside the bags. Did you encounter these problems too?
I think this is the video that has convinced me to buy this particular unit. After dealing with the food saver, I need to upgrade. But I didn't want to drop $700+ for one. I think this will be a great intro into Chamber vacs. I do love the ability to do soups (liquids) with less fuss. I think I'll use that for camping. Make soups and chili ahead of time, freeze it and use them as ice packs in the cooler. Then just throw it in a pot of water, and heat my soup back up. Thanks!
I have several rolls of bags for the edge sealers. Can you use them to make your own bags to work with this? Mainly asking because I didn't want to waste them. (I understand their site says no on the ridged bags.)
Good review on the new product. Many years ago (10-11) I bought a VacMaster V215 and it is still going strong. But, like you said it weighs a lot (about 65-70 lbs) so it sits on a dedicated stand. This product has good features for the price but there is one thing I would miss and that is the vacuum gage. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Peter
Can someone link me an actual user manual? Not the quick guide? I am a professional chef which also do chef at home and I recently purchase the chamber vacuum sealer. i would like to see in details the programs in order to start doing my own recping etc. But there's nothing on the web.
This is helpful. I bought a side sealer and no matter what I did, the vacuum didn't get all the air out. This Sealer looks like it would be almost foolproof.
Further to my first comment, could you expand on using it with bread? I foolishly once tried to put some bread in my chamber vac and it squished it thin as a dime 🙂.
For sealing bread, I’ve just been running the lowest vacuum setting (10). Let me know if I’m missing the mark with your ask. Thanks again for watching and commenting!
My wife is a good home baker and makes all sorts of bread. We use another Anova product for it : the Anova steam oven. I just wonder where a chamber vac would fit in. We don't understand what sealing bread means. Is it to seal in a vac bag? A demo would be very much appreciated. Thanks, Peter
Oh, I see. Well, the more innovative part is cooling rapidly to get a great crust. I’ll put it on the list of videos to make. I haven’t tried it myself yet. Would be fun to figure it out! Unfortunately my wife’s sourdough won’t fit. I’m also guessing your wife’s bread might be too large. This would be more for dinner roll type bread given the chamber is fairly shallow. Let me play around and see what works.

Thank you!! Have a great day.
Have you thought about more videos with this unit?

Nice! I hope you’re enjoying it!

Bought one for the holidays. I do a thick ribeye for 60 and strong. Anyone else have custom settings they do?

Glad to hear it helped make the right decision for you!

Yes, you can use textured bags.
@@topsousvide Thanks for the reply :)
The site actually says the textured bags are unnecessary. I really feel like the stock bags are better, but I haven't been able to find them (yet!)
Anyone found a good accessory hose for this unit?
Just got this chamber after doing a lot of research, it seems very high quality. Needing something to store all the garden fruit and veggies we grow.
Oh awesome! Test on a single veggie etc to make sure you get the vacuum pressure where you like it for softer things like veggies and fruits. Enjoy!
For sous vide cooking, would you prefer the vacuum chamber sealer or the edge vacuum sealer?
(Really enjoy your videos)
IMO an edge sealer is more than sufficient for sous vide. Thanks for watching and commenting. Really appreciate the kind words!

Thanks, Peter! Appreciate all your insight and encouragement!
You always do the most thorough reviews! Loved the marshmallow test!
Thank you for the feedback! Much appreciated!

Is threre a difference between using an open jar or open ziplock bag to pickle vs vacuum sealing a bag to pickle?
Honestly, I’m not sure. I haven’t played around with that. It strikes me that boiling within the sealed bag could be an issue.
Can I do part-baked pizza without it getting crushed in the special bags ??
You can’t fit a full size pizza in the chamber.
@@topsousvide not even 11 or 10 inch ?

Chamber sealers are a different breed! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Why didn’t the marshmallow re-expand when the vacuum door opened?

Mylar Bags ?
Yup. You can use Mylar bags.
I click the short for the marshmallows but I see none of those
It's literally the thing he starts off the video with. He puts them in at 40 seconds.
Someone who measures height in 2 dimensions☑
2D or 3D? 🤔😂 Thanks for watching and commenting!
Listening to your breathing pattern and your more nasal vocal sound makes me think you have an airway problem. Maybe vocal chord restriction?
Thanks for your concern.
That's about the weirdest TH-cam comment I've ever seen... and that's saying a lot haha
