Urban Sketching: The Real Life Experience 🎨 Ink and Watercolors on Location in Vancouver

- Hi everyone, today I'm sharing with you my morning finding inspirations at Parallel 49th Coffee & Lucky's Donuts in Mount Pleasant in East Vancouver. I was lucky to sketch two gentlemen in front of me, and the heritage church and steet corner outside the windows. Please watch the video until the end for my full process composing this sketchbook page using pen and watercolors.
🎨 Materials I used:
- Sailor's fude fountain pen (Bamboo Green)
- Noodler's Brown 41 Ink (to fill the fountain pen)
- Mungyo watercolors
- Etchr Mix-Media A4 size Landscape Sketchbook
- Holbein Water Brush (large tip)
- Holbein water brush (medium tip)

This is great!! A tour round cool and not-so-cool places in Vancouver, the ubiquitous (but great) coffee shop and regular life... transit etc. Oh and the art is nice too(!)

I'm new to all this. I'm going to watch your video on the ink pens you use to sketch. I bought some journal books today to get started.
Hi Becky, first of all, I love your videos and they have inspired me to start drawing again. I recently took a six-day trip to Melbourne, where I lived for the first 40 years, of my life. What I couldn't have time to sketch, I photographed for later sketching. Not as satisfying, but in this case necessary. I find, I am much slower these days and haven't got "my line " back yet. Secondly, I want to ask you, what colour is Mungyo Royal Purple? I can not find it on the Mungyo colour charts. Is it Purple 817? Just Curious. Also what is the light that you use? The sketches are excellent, beautiful, realistic, but sketches in public are a bit scary because people are constantly watching. You are very good at sketching, do you also work for Walt Disney Studio? Happy Easter, Miss Becky...

I would like to know what brand of waterbrush you use- it looks like it has a very large water holder.
It's the Holbein brand water brushes.
Becky i wanna purchase waterbrush as well but my country didnt have holbein waterbrush, so which will u recommend to replace holbein, is it pentel aquash or kuretake zig waterbrush? Really need suggestion
The Sakura, Pentel are great brands. Kuretake might be good too, all of these brands are Japanese, just like Holbein.
@@BeckyCao thanks becky, i’d go with pentel for now~ both pentel and kuretake has mixed reviews, so i’d just choose one and hope for the best cos i definitely wont need all~ just one brand and few sizes :)
