I prefer Heirloom Seeds, because then I can collect seeds at the end of the season without having to buy more. However, I will say some of the hybrid seeds have great uses as well, and sometimes put out more fruit. The GMO veggies are not typically available to Consumers, so you don't really have to worry about that.
I started a variety of seeds and they will sprout, then they all ended up dying! I am on my third try and added a fan in my room as maybe the soil became to wet for too long. I am in Michigan so maybe the weather was a problem?
Yes. We are growing Calendulas also. Heard they are great for the garden.
also look for heirloom seeds. That might be the same as non GMO but I am not sure.

I always over water. Less water more light, and add some heat. Don't forget to harden them off before you plan them.
@@ErvsGarden thanks I need a heat lamp!
Specifically I'm recommending you buy a heat mat. A heat lamp will likely damage your plants.
@@ErvsGarden yes okay I bought a heat mat. Thank you. What state are you in? I'm in Michigan.
