This song literally convinced me that my mother's passing wasn't my fault. she passed when i was 15 from a drug overdose when the last words i had spoken to her were that i hoped that she didn't make it back from her trip to get more drugs. i've struggled with this feeling for years and i've finally felt like i've been able to talk to someone about it.

I miss my cat in this year, just already 3 months. Before I was listening to sleep token, but not in the correct way, just listening without interest, but, when my cat was missing, a fried came with The new album, and he told me: listen, this band is really... wow. Listen, listen. And I thought: okay, give them an opportunity once again. Of course I like the new songs. I really like Vore, The Summoning, Chokehold. But the previous songs made me cry, hate myself for not having prevented my cat from disappearing, blame myself for not doing more to find it. But they finally made me forgive myself. I accepted that I gave a lot of love to that cat, that I took care of him, I was good to him and affectionate. And that wherever he is, he will always remain in my heart. It was more than a pet. So I can only thank Sleep and the guys from Sleep Token for these beautiful melodies that I have finally understood. And I see everything different since then.There is something wonderful about Vessel, a gift not only for his voice, but for conveying all those emotions and exploding, rising above it all, down to a whisper that makes your skin crawl.

Now at 36, I’ve experienced my own battle with addiction and see so much of the pain she must have experienced in my own journey. She was never the same, and neither will I be, but at least now I’m on the path to recovery. I wish she had found the same path. This song never fails to make me cry-it puts words to my grief for our parallel journeys.

I heard this song on my way to NY visiting family at home.. My fiance has been through A LOT this pregnancy and it's been a VERY Stressful time for us... I cried, December was the month we both lost loved ones and our grandparents. Amongst many other things... The Way That You Were... I heard this song driving and cried. Couldn't control it. I felt right though. Later that weekend, I proposed to my future to be wife. She said yes. Sleep Token has done a JOB and sorting me out this last year or two since the pandemic... and put me through SO Much since I discovered them. This was the first song I had ever heard by sleep token and I'm very grateful for that. The past few years have been especially rough, fighting with my thoughts was becoming harder again, not to mention how I had been treated in the past was convincing me that I am as bad as I was shown, but then this song came on and I was just amazed not only by this music but I just didn't feel alone because of the way I felt anymore. Sleep Token will always hold a special place in my heart. I started binge watching their videos and listening to their music right around the time that my dog got sick, this past August. She had been at the hospital for a week and their music really helped with the anxiety, and gave me something to focus on. 🖤 This song was playing on the way home from the vet after being told I'd have to put her down later that day.
Vessel! Damn it. I’m over here crying like a baby over this video. Just like with all things Sleep Token, the beginning of songs are always so “meh,” for me in the beginning, but then the hook comes in and it’s over for me. I’m done, new limerence obsession unlocked. That’s what just happened with this video. I was like “meh, okay, he’s trying to speak to her,” at first but then you start relating to the lyrics, seeing the struggle (if I’m understanding the context of this video correctly) & Vessel just trying to get through. Now I’m crying. This sort of introspection of self, kind of ends when you get older, same with just how emotional everything is when you’re young (or at least that’s been my experience) & now that I’m older, “the way that you were,” just kind of hits home for me. I miss the way that I was too. 😢
I discovered Sleep Token through a mashup of this song and "Fall For Me," which I think has been since taken down for copyright violation. I find it interesting how both songs seem to be two sides of the same story: "Fall For Me" sounds like it's from the perspective of someone begging their friend to talk them out of suicide, this sounds like it's from the perspective of the friend.

Man... this steals my heart and soul. I heard this song for the first time maybe 2 or 3 years ago and it didnt hit me how it does now having listened to all of their albums, this one really digs away at my cynical apathy I've been under for a while. I dont know that there is a bad song by Sleep Token, everything Ive heard from their 3 albums has been so Dam good!

I heard this song on my way to NY visiting family at home.. My fiance has been through A LOT this pregnancy and it's been a VERY Stressful time for us... I cried, December was the month we both lost loved ones and our grandparents. Amongst many other things... The Way That You Were... I heard this song driving and cried. Couldn't control it. I felt right though.
Later that weekend, I proposed to my future to be wife. She said yes. Sleep Token has done a JOB and sorting me out this last year or two since the pandemic... and put me through SO Much since I discovered them. Everytime i come across gems like this song it still amazes me as if I heard it for the first time... Thank you Sleep Token. Have a good holiday and a happy new year.

Very first song I heard from them. Thought it was a beautiful minimalistic song that had so much emotion behind it. Especially when the choir effect kicks in, just gorgeous.

This was the first song I had ever heard by sleep token and I'm very grateful for that. The past few years have been especially rough, fighting with my thoughts was becoming harder again, not to mention how I had been treated in the past was convincing me that I am as bad as I was shown, but then this song came on and I was just amazed not only by this music but I just didn't feel alone because of the way I felt anymore. I just want to say how much I appreciate sleep token. Nothing else has made me feel the way that you guys do.💙

I don't know anyone else into heavy music but I decided that wasn't going to stop me from enjoying it!

I can't help but think of all the innocent children who are currently victims of horrific acts of violence. It is a cruel world we live in; one that does not even value human life anymore. How - after so many years of human existence - can wars still be allowed? And how can important messages still get censored?
I hope more people listen to this song, relate to it, and try to help people in need. Never shall we stop feeling empathy for other human beings, especially not the young ones. Please speak up for all children who need help, they might not get the chance to do so themselves.

Vessel! Damn it. I’m over here crying like a baby over this video. Just like with all things Sleep Token, the beginning of songs are always so “meh,” for me in the beginning, but then the hook comes in and it’s over for me. I’m done, new limerence obsession unlocked. That’s what just happened with this video. I was like “meh, okay, he’s trying to speak to her,” at first but then you start relating to the lyrics, seeing the struggle (if I’m understanding the context of this video correctly) & Vessel just trying to get through. Now I’m crying. This sort of introspection of self, kind of ends when you get older, same with just how emotional everything is when you’re young (or at least that’s been my experience) & now that I’m older, “the way that you were,” just kind of hits home for me. I miss the way that I was too. 😢

I find it interesting how both songs seem to be two sides of the same story: "Fall For Me" sounds like it's from the perspective of someone begging their friend to talk them out of suicide, this sounds like it's from the perspective of the friend.
