Exactly, it's silly to think that if you have products on shelves you're failing... How is the regular folk gonna be able to discover the brand if they can't even try it?
When you overproduce a product it puts strain on your production and cost factors so yes making any shoe like this that doesn't sell does hurt a company it's just business 101.
Take a look at the 2015 lows Nike did. They actually already did a run of lows tht are very similar to the 85 lows. 8 eyelets(OG lows have 7), & bigger swoosh. I'm hoping Nike drops all the metallic series in highs and lows but I'm not too confident they will.
So true on “sitting”. I had a plumber who saw my new military blue 4s and remarked how he didn’t know they brought the nike air back… and i told him how you could still sorta get them. Most people even those into decent sneakers doesn’t keep up with hype
I got into the shoe game kinda late but I would definitely tell myself to do everything in your power to get the Off-White Chicagos or at least try. Virgil is such an inspiration to me and the reason I went to school for design that shoe would mean so much to me now especially since he passed
Jordan 1 has always been the perfect shoe to me. Being from California growing up in the 2000s the Jordan 1 always felt like a multi purpose shoe. Durable materials, great traction, ankle protection (Highs), great color ways, and a neutral silhouette. Meant to be beat to the ground 🤌
When I was 15, I wanted the taxi 12s, but instead I ended up getting later the all white Air Penny 2s. If I could go back, I would tell myself to make a deal with my parents to get both, rather than settling for one or the other.
I was gifted a pair of black cement AJ4 (1999 pair) in 2005 and I wore them until they started to fall apart so I decided to just keep them just because but my mom made me throw them away. Those were the shoes that made me fall in love with sneakers.
I have been using barefoot shoes for walking and best decision I have made, been wearing the Hykes Flex and love how they feel, once you get used to them you will never go back to regular shoes.
I love the simplicity, plus quality of these. I will be looking out for this drop. Gotta agree that you need to have shoes on shelves…dropping $200 on shoes without trying them on first is a big ask…My 15 year old self was broke! 😂
I was 15 in 1985 and I had a classmate who had both the AJ 1 Hi Chicago's & AJKO Chicago's. What a dream that would be if both were still with him. Btw, they woke up the shoe geek in me.
1: "Toxic glue smell" is one of the best things about new sneakers when you're a kid. 2: On shelves in stores, where people can try them on? What a novel idea, someone should try that. 3: Q.O.T.D. I'd probably go back and grab a pair Solo Flights from 93 just cause.
I would tell my 15 year old self (in 1991) to beg my parents to get me a pair of Jordan 6 infrareds, to this date this is still my favorite shoe, images of MJ wearing them during his first championship run, they’re just IT
I guess that applies sometimes and to certain things, but this shoe is $144 AFTER FEES in my size on StockX. I'm not willfully going to spend more so I can wait in line in a store, but to each their own.
I’m not gonna lie I was, and still am, excited for this release but it’s such a bummer to hear they’re cheaping out on the insole. My metallic navy ‘85 lows are by far the best feeling and fitting AJ1’s I’ve ever had. Perfect blend of cushion and density.
That is a nice looking shoe, good to know that it is releasing soon. I’d go back in time to repurchase Eqt 97 purple Adidas superstar 2G And1 nightmare those were some good days 😊
I thought 85 cut is only meant for the OG colourways? Love the inclusion of the hang tag but I wish it was on the metallic blue and neutral grey. With the change in Nike leadership, I hope Jordan Brand stops reimagining things and gives us 85 cut of the full AJ1 metallic pack.
They’ve also used the ‘85 cut for unreleased samples (ex: Georgetowns) and that ‘Made in Italy’ collection. I guess that also applies to OG colorways, but on low tops.
I was the one that kept all the shoes in wraps back in the day, thinking they were to nice to be worn, then retro frenzy started happening, so I realized there is probably no point to buy almost any shoes if going back in time, because most of them have been re-released and retroed.
I often think that I wish I’d been able to afford some of the shoes that came out when I was getting into sneakers, so from about 2013 onwards, but with a fair few of them I see you in these vids years later slating them for being awfully made, so I feel a bit better 😂
85 lows just fit so much better. Wider and lower toebox, better material, better look (not a lot of space under tongue tag if you don't use one lacehole), better padding. Hopefully they just retire the 7-lacehole variant.
I would absolutely double up on all the AJ1 releases if I could go back. Not because of dollar value, but because of that sentimentality. And then also to be able to pull out the retro's and compare builds side by side for real. Would be awesome!
2022 Fire red 3s would be one I would be getting if I could go back to that time. I have slept on 3s until I got the reimagined pairs and now I want any retros with the polyurethane insoles because of the comfort alone. Damn the Military blue 4 and the Black cement 3 this year let me down.
I would tell myself to buy a pair of Vans Razors in size 12 or 13. I had two pairs of razors in middle school. I actually made my first trade for a pair of beat up simple old schools. My Dad found out and whooped my ass and made me put the simples in the garbage. Years later Simple came back out again maybe because of Larry David. I got a pair of anniversary old schools. I still hope that Vans reissue the Razors because of this 90's retro inspired models out now
I'd probably prefer the metallic blue ones over these but this model is gold. (Just don't know why the brand insist on making crappy derivative versions)
Low how you dug at the Black Toes being postponed, cuz seriously, I was looking forward to it. Might as well get the 85 Breds next year if its past that date. #QuestionoftheDay: Which Nike Alpha Project (late 90s to early 2000s) shoes you would like to see return? Today's QotD: Easily the Huarache 2K4s, Jordan 20 (the White Laser), and Huarache Trainer.
QOTD: Air Tech Challenge 2. I turned 15 in 1990. I think that's when they came out. So many cool colorways that I don't think have ever been retro'd yet. But then again, why would I save them all this time? For resale? They would be unwearable today, I think.
I was pissed the black toe reimagined got pushed back. I was hella excited for those and saved up for em, then poof! Sh*t happened. I hope thos lows don't get pushed back they look hella good.
Nike raised prices too, that has a factor in stuff sitting. The resellers can not make money and so on. Lows went from $99 to $120.... OG low are 150 after tax. That is ridiculous for a low. I mean they were $60-$80 not too long ago. I do not want to hear "Inflation", that is just an excuse to raise prices. TV's have have down over time, video game systems have practically been the same for 20 years. It's like Nike and car companies constantly go up.
The shoes being available should be a priority, and if they aren't selling then they naturally *should* decrease in price. Which, knowing Nike, unfortunately will not happen...
What size should I go with on these? I am between a 7.5 and an 8 on all my Js....but I will say the regular OG Low in an 8 is too big. Would 7.5 be the right choice for the 85 cut?
Exactly, it's silly to think that if you have products on shelves you're failing... How is the regular folk gonna be able to discover the brand if they can't even try it?
🎯
So accurate, when a pair of Nike is as out of reach as a LV or something....bad business
When you overproduce a product it puts strain on your production and cost factors so yes making any shoe like this that doesn't sell does hurt a company it's just business 101.
@KILLJOY375 making a shoe that doesn't sell is not good business but that's not what they talking about
@@KILLJOY375 you missed the point apparently, but ok
85 Lows have to be my favorite!!! The difference between 85 Lows and OG Lows is frustrating. 85 Lows need to get more more color ways
I agree 100%
I customed these into military blacks color way
I always wanted White Cement 3s in high school and having them now is incredible
The metallic blue 85 lows were also in a slimmed down box
So true on “sitting”. I had a plumber who saw my new military blue 4s and remarked how he didn’t know they brought the nike air back… and i told him how you could still sorta get them. Most people even those into decent sneakers doesn’t keep up with hype

I might cop this on Dec when it's discounted. Did the same.thing with the 85 metallic blue 😊
That "we're poor dude, we can't" made ma laugh didn't expect that answer but make sense 😄

love it.. and love they are sitting too.. psycheddddd
My goodness these look super nice. Also, they have to make more colorways with the 85 cut
Definitely getting these!! Looks crazy with the black laces
Yeah most def
Those are simple and clean. Easy pickup for me!
When you said the quality is good on these. No lie was said. Just got my pair in hand. This is hands down the best leather on a Jordan 1 since sbb’s
Seen this video and bought them instead of the mocha lows on stock x. Thank you !
PREACH!!! I’ve been saying this within my sneaker family group. Many of whom i didn’t know were “sneakerheads” until 2021.
I can’t wait to get these. I really like this channel
Thanks for the video Chris. I learn a lot about sneakers from your channel.
Happy to hear that!
I was 15 in 1990, so probably Jordan 5 in black. I remember being in awe of that reflective tongue!
Love the review and thank you for the shoutout for the photo! Glad I could contribute!
Finally someone who does the sizing right. So many big TH-camrs who keep saying go tts with the jordan 1 low og it is just crazy to me
i have always gone half a size down for jordan 1s but with these (OG 85) i feel you have to go up half a size
These are beautiful! Can't wait for a metallic green release!!
When I was 15, I wanted the taxi 12s, but instead I ended up getting later the all white Air Penny 2s. If I could go back, I would tell myself to make a deal with my parents to get both, rather than settling for one or the other.

These would definitely be inside my collection
I knew you would make a video on these 😂🔥
I have been using barefoot shoes for walking and best decision I have made, been wearing the Hykes Flex and love how they feel, once you get used to them you will never go back to regular shoes.

I love that the hype is down! I got my metallic burgundy’s for $90!!! A couple years back that shoe would be an easy $400+

I have the neutral greys and I love them! Might have to grab these. When is the release?
I would tell my 15 year old self (in 1991) to beg my parents to get me a pair of Jordan 6 infrareds, to this date this is still my favorite shoe, images of MJ wearing them during his first championship run, they’re just IT
Great vid. Made me want to go check them out.
Looks good. Will consider if I can get my hands on them
I prefer to buy pairs instore. Buying online takes the fun and excitement out of it.
Awesome review as always 🔥
I guess that applies sometimes and to certain things, but this shoe is $144 AFTER FEES in my size on StockX. I'm not willfully going to spend more so I can wait in line in a store, but to each their own.
Jordan 1 lows just look so sleek clean sneaker

I have the neutral grays and metallic blues, LOVE them. so wearable. Gonna have to resist buying these, prbly don't need all three 😅
Nice shirt. I got the same one. Great review.
That is a nice looking shoe, good to know that it is releasing soon.
I’d go back in time to repurchase
Eqt 97 purple
Adidas superstar 2G
And1 nightmare
those were some good days 😊
You know I would've never guessed that those shoes had that kind of technology wayyyy back then, by the way love the reviews...
I thought 85 cut is only meant for the OG colourways?

Nope the second of hi was the reverse bred, that was a concept never was produced.
your a great reviewers of sneakers!! more power bro!!

I was 15 in 97 I had the air Jordan 12 flu game ❤
Retro 1s will never die
I love all the og lows the only ones I weren’t able to get are the hyped ones. I’m definitely gonna have to age the soles for some color pop
My time capsule shoe is the 98 zoom flight glove.. wanted that so bad as a kid
Always a fun review but I’m anxiously waiting for the Nike CC signature model release. Nikes gonna make money again with that seller.
Are these comfortable to everyday wear? Crazy i never owned a pair of one’s… but i want the lows!
The grey outsole looks good, better than a white outsole would’ve been, and it would’ve looked worse had the swooshes been metallic
For me go back to 1999 when I was 17 and get as many Jordan 4s as I possibly can! A specially the white cements !
I often think that I wish I’d been able to afford some of the shoes that came out when I was getting into sneakers, so from about 2013 onwards, but with a fair few of them I see you in these vids years later slating them for being awfully made, so I feel a bit better 😂
Yea ill definitely be getting at least 2 pairs of these!
beautiful..I'd like a hoghtop..bit these are 🔥🔥🔥🔥
they came in a white thin box
85 lows just fit so much better.
Wider and lower toebox, better material, better look (not a lot of space under tongue tag if you don't use one lacehole), better padding.
Hopefully they just retire the 7-lacehole variant.
Can't even buy them. Just here so that my inner-self feels a bit comfy ! Kudos man, keep going
Why can’t you buy them man?
@@camo_conda7 It's a dream to wear jordan shoes. In india its priced at 230$ which is expensive
I would absolutely double up on all the AJ1 releases if I could go back. Not because of dollar value, but because of that sentimentality. And then also to be able to pull out the retro's and compare builds side by side for real. Would be awesome!
Me too ❤1,my favorite always good content.

Black laces looks good in those 85’s
Gotta do air max 1 smoke grey. Shoe is flames
I think you can review the Adidas Jabbar. For the history perspective
When I was 15 the best shoe out was the converse all-star 😊 they we're $9.99 a few pairs of Levi's that were $10.00 man those were good ol days 🎉🎉
These are so clean
I would tell myself to buy a pair of Vans Razors in size 12 or 13. I had two pairs of razors in middle school. I actually made my first trade for a pair of beat up simple old schools. That come in a slim box, but the midnight navy and neutral gray boxes are white with red branding
Metallic blue 85 lows are heavily discounted here in Oz but still expensive than Adidas Abdul Jabbar hi and lo versions.
I'd probably prefer the metallic blue ones over these but this model is gold. (Just don't know why the brand insist on making crappy derivative versions)
Why didnt nike make jordan 1 lows for every jordan 1 when they originally released? Great vid as always
For any other ordinary products: Yo this product sucks; it’s gonna sit
For sneakers: Yo it’s gonna sit; this product sucks
finally some fine great beaters. just wished it got a sail midsole
Yeah, I’m disappointed the Black Toes got delayed. Even took off work in case I was lucky enough to pick up a pair in store. 😢
They're close to retail on GOAT. Mine arrived yesterday, and the shoe and presentation are fantastic!
I’ll wait till they go on sale to cop them. Just like the metallic Reds & Blues did.
QOTD: Air Tech Challenge 2. I turned 15 in 1990. I think that's when they came out. So many cool colorways that I don't think have ever been retro'd yet. But then again, why would I save them all this time? For resale? They would be unwearable today, I think.
Air Jordan 6 Black Infrared
I would tell my 15 year old self to get the Nike Kobe 2 in the black/yellow colorway but like you we were poor but great video!
Dope. Love these.
I was pissed the black toe reimagined got pushed back. I was hella excited for those and saved up for em, then poof! Sh*t happened. I hope thos lows don't get pushed back they look hella good.

Ill cop it
The shoes being available should be a priority, and if they aren't selling then they naturally *should* decrease in price. Which, knowing Nike, unfortunately will not happen...
I hesitated to pick up the neutral grey's at a steep discount and now regret it. Maybe will pick up these
both of the last two 85 lows I've purchased have come in a slimmed down box, so I think that is for 85 versions
What's your opinion on the ankle padding? The 1985 pairs had a thinner ankle liner I think, but curious for your opinion!
I just noticed, but was that an AI-upscaled, "The More You Know" image? Good job Mrs. Wing.
👍 Not my Shoe but if you like it, that's all that matters. I made sure to like this Video though. I show up for YOU GUYS!
Must cop for me!
I'd probably tell my 15-year old self to try and get those And1 Desire Mids, the adidas Gameday Lightnings. Haha!
Here the cutaways and unfiltered constructive criticism 👊
What size should I go with on these? I am between a 7.5 and an 8 on all my Js....but I will say the regular OG Low in an 8 is too big. Would 7.5 be the right choice for the 85 cut?
What's the difference between 85 lows and OG lows?
awesome colorway and sneaker, i hope they stop charging so much for jordan 1s
Im not a fan of lows but I like these.
I’d buy a pair of those
big swoosh on these would've been awesome - tho not an '85 feature
If I could go back to my 15 year old self I would buy like 3 pairs of the mid Jordan Pure Plus in black
The air Yeezy 2’s lol
That or the Kobe 8 sulfurs 🥲
I was 18 around that time so yea haha
The 28 and Kobe 9 would be the shoe I tell myself to buy
