    Mönch (4,107m)
    Up: South West Ridge (AD+)
    Down: South East Ridge (PD+)
At the beginning of September, I organized a climb with the Club Alpine Suisse in the Bernese Alps
We headed to Grindelwald to take the telecabine and train to Jungfraujoch.
The new telecabine is fantastic passing along the North Face of the Eiger
    We planned a full-on weekend.
On Saturday, we did the Monch traverse, climbing the South West ridge and descending to the hut via the South East ridge.
And Sunday, we climbed the Jungfrau, but that's for another video
It was the first 4K peak for one of the participants, but they were very motivated.
We made a great team with plenty of positive energy.
Both ridges are straight forward in good conditions.
The crux at the beginning, an exposed pitch graded 3B, the rest is a pleasant scramble.
Route finding is also easy, but like any other ridge, during a storm it can be pretty dangerous
We arrived at the hut in time for dinner, but quite tired, and we still had the Jungfrau to climb the next day

I am so happy to see another video from my favorite Swiss Athlete! Jon, I really appreciate what you have to share on this incredible channel and your superb physical fitness brought about by really hard training, focusing in on your weaknesses in order to improve to be the best that you can be. I will watch this channel for as long as I can. I am 64 years old, so we will see how long I am capable of watching you.

@@jonmuruaYou are an awesome man Jon, but at 64 my tired old joints don’t like too much activity. I was 23 the last time that I was in the area of the Eiger.

These telecabins were not there in 1982 when I last visited the area. There was an old cog railroad that we didn't take because the weather never cleared up. We never could see the Eiger.

This télécabine is pretty new, I think it was opened in 2021

@@jonmurua These modern Télécabines are much nicer than the ones that we took from the Mt Blanc area into Italy.
