As many people in the comments say, Azula is a toxic friend. And I agree with them. But. I wanted to convey not objective reality, not facts, but how Azula herself, in my opinion, sees the situation, evaluates herself and her friends. Like many villains, she does not see that the problem is in her and blames everyone around her. I found it quite interesting
To be fair her friends are toxic as well but mostly in different ways, also they all are still children who were raised in abusive enviroments which is why they barely display healthy behaviors (Azula, Mai and Ty Lee)
God this almost makes me feel bad for her😩 I never realized how much pain azula must be trying to cover up for her to be so closed off and cold to even her closest friends.

Right, she was mean to everyone as a kid, hence the "what's wrong with that child". Zuko showed how she fed the turtle ducks, just hurling a whole loaf of bread at them. She pushed ty lee over while she was doing her hand walking tricks, embarrassed mai in front of zuko because she knew how mai felt about him. Manipulated ty lee into leaving the circus because she made the guy in charge do over the top things. Insulted ty lee because she's more likeable/popular with boys. Laughed when zuko insulted her at the beach. Azula also analyzed all of them easily as well as herself during the beach episode, so she's not oblivious to their feelings or hers. Mai, idk she was just bored by everything. She willingly came to azula's side but she wasn't wanting to fight toph and sokka when it came to bosco the bear being taken back. She was upset with zuko for breaking up with her but as she said "I love zuko more than I fear you". That's not friendship. What kinda person should fear their friend? (I could go on about the comics as well but this just depicted the show)
@@Raven0usKiwi I don't think Ozai had much of a hand in raising the kids. Seems more like Azula was neglected by both of her parents and was desperate to seek the approval from others by any means necessary.
@@sorntrash wellll I can't say too much on them being raised because I didn't read all the comics, but whenever Azula insulted or did better than Zuko when they were kids, Ozai was obviously on her side every time. He encouraged Azula to be the "perfect" child, even if it was at her brother's expense
@@sorntrash But you're right, Azula was always after her father's approval. Its shown throughout everything. She would do anything and everything to be the perfect daughter for him.
