  • The head of one of Haiti's most powerful gangs, and the de-facto head of a consortium of gangs that have brought Port-au-Prince to a standstill has told Sky News chief correspondent Stuart Ramsay he would consider a ceasefire and talks on the political future of the country if they were included.
Today at 2pm, Sky's Yalda Hakim presents a special programme looking at the Haiti gangs and the current situation in the country.

The US has to stop choosing the leaders in Haiti. Let the people pick their own leader. The people have chosen who they want. But the whole world is not listening. The seven council will never work. The people don’t even know the representative that is in the council. All the cities in Haiti choose Guy Philippe , but the international community doesn’t want him. If Haiti is truly independent, let the people of Haiti decide their fate.

They now have the opportunity to pick leaders from the many warring gang members!
Which gang leader will be president?! Which gang members will make up the government?
Where will they get money from to rebuild the damage?! Who will feel safe enough to go there to help with medical care and other necessary assistance?!
This is a big mess and only gets worse.

He isn't threatening the community imho... he is saying that no foreign force will be able to garnish enough support from impoverished communities because the so-called gangs are instrumental in assuring that aid and reconstruction will be possible.

@@desmondburnett9286 Yes, there is no army as it was disbanded but not by the US, lol. Just as a history lesson, the first democratically elected President post the Papa Doc/Baby Doc dictatorship Jean Bertrand Aristide was ousted in a coup in 1992 by the Haitian Military. Once Aristide was put back in power the first thing he did was disband the military due to the lack of trust. Funny enough the once popular Aristide was once again ousted in the 2000s by the people when he showed dictatorship tendencies.

What left Haiti poor was what happen after 1804 and the declaration of there Freedom. The Powers: France, The British in America led by Thomas Jefferson and countless others rejected Haiti as a country of freed Africans and isolated Haiti from world trade for over 200 years and counting. France lost to the Africans called Haitians and then sold the largest are in America to the British colonoies. Then the french return with the treat of naval military attacks on the Haitian people unless paid for the lost of what they call property, both guman and land. The US through Citi bank buys the corrupt debt and the rest is history. This is the genesis and the epicenter of the outcome of Haiti!

If the International Community really want to help Haiti as they said they are Haiti partners just to come and get what we have The resources that we have not to help us get a better day.Why the International Community never have or create a plan like they did for their country why they do not help us to build a professional army to deal with the problems that any country in the world faces ,America have gangs but they don’t call Caricom community to come kill gangs in their Country why they don’t help us to build a better prison camps and higher some psychologists and put a good professional school inside of this prison to help them go back to their feet over the $600 000.000 they looking for Kenia to come spit to the dignity of a first black nation we understand the purpose of the game and we watching what role every nation plays to the future of our country we do not stupid the way they think that all Haitian people are .It’s very awful but we ‘re fighting.I hope the world in general takes notes, when we have a government elected by the people ready to help us rebuild our country their own diplomats put together with some oligarchs to komplot against any Government or President who comes to take us away this marras created by the International government and co

Look at these guys, these gangs have no training whatsoever, a mercenary group could take this whole city in a few weeks and turn it into a tourist area.
