Just discovered your channel and I'm impressed - as a seasoned rider I really come to enjoy even a review of this so far unknown 125cc - as a 16-year old back in the days I'd probably had sold a kidney for one of these :)
This bike looks amazing! Can you compare it to keeway superlight 125cc regarding the space on the bike. Specificially legs positioning. I'm also 6'3 but there are no sinnis hoodlom available in my country, and the keeway is closest thing to hoodlom available.
Wow, Im glad you did a review of this bike. My trainer told me he wants me to practise on the road for a few months before I do the practical parts for the A licence, so Im now looking at a 125. A guy in the area is selling me his for a very good price. Only 2 yrs old and besides some tiny rust in perfect condition. Looks awesome too and from your review seems to be a good bike to have. Im especially glad about the gear indicator. Sometimes I was thinking about other stuff during the CBT and forgot which gear I was in lol.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I saw it earlier to have a look in person. It really looks great too. Btw, Im at your Sycamore dealership tomorrow. Want to spend a few hours going through the bikes Im interested in. Hope they have them all in stock.
I've got the Lexmoto Michigan, the same bike different badge, and love it. I think the Michigan has higher bars and a little less HP but still massively fun to ride.
Hey guys, great video. I'm getting back on the road via my CBT and I'm stuck between this and the UM Renegade Vegas. So this video helps a lot. One thing, where would you suggest to put the L plates? Obviously I don't want to be sticking the adhesive ones on the the body work, but the positioning of the number plate has thrown me a little bit.
Great video i couldn't decide between the keeway superlight or the sinnis hoodlum and after watching this video im getting the sinnis hoodlum you talked about it on a rider point of view instead of a sales point of view which i really like
Hey guys great review! Love love love this bike! I'm a cruiser style girl through and through, so this ticks all of my boxes, i do have a question though, i dont know how i feel about floor boards... Do you think it would be possible to change to pegs? And if so would it be cheap/easy? How do you feel about floor boards? Do you think it's easier or harder compared to pegs?
Thanks Jessica. We love cruiser style girls! Actually I prefer boards; they are comfortable and also allow a bit of extra room for foot placement. You could very easily swap them out for pegs I’m sure. I don’t know which ones but there’s bound to be some that fit. Have you subscribed? We need more female subs 👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan hey guys thanks for the reply! And i sure am! I subscribed after watching the first video I saw of you guys, which was the UK licensing process, that video was very helpful! And now i know exactly what i have to do to get my license!
Hi. Speaking about boards/plates/pegs(if decide to replace) are they so low so can't really lean and keep you as straigh as possible? Do you touch the road on roundabout /corners etc? I love the look and rider position. Leaning is my only concern. Cheers
You mentioned this bike is about £2.2k brand news. I am seeing prices are about £2.6k . Do you recommend any dealers that are selling these at a decent price?
Hi there, just curious what the difference between this bike and the lexmoto michigan? they look very similar with similar specs...but this is almost twice the price and im curious as to why. Is it just for the name?
GingerDeadMan I know that some factories in China produce a base bike from which companies like Sinnis or Lexmoto put on their stamp. It does look mighty similar though. I’ll ask my contacts next time I see them and see what they say.
I never ever heard of this manufacturer before; i think it is not available here in germany - what is very unfortunate. Another cool bike for young people who are looking for an alternative style to KTM etc. with fewer plastic parts. And the price is more than only all right. By the way: the soundtrack fits much better than the one i complained about last time 😉🤘 Thx for that
hey you can buy the bike also in germany. it is selled as explorer inverro 125 at atu (Same bike, its the Zongshen RA1 Euro 4 which is selled with few different names)
I'm 38 and just decided to start on my motorbike journey so did the CBT but due the fact I've never driven motorbike aside the CBT training I'm thinking to ride a 125 for a while before I go for full licence. Would you guys recommend this one to someone like me?
For a 125 cc it's not bad , it looks quite cool 😎 and sounds bigger than it is , 11 b h p seems above the normal for a 125 , price wise cheap what 17 year old love that , wish they'd have been around when I was 17 , another good video, keep them coming 🏍👍 also be good if your getting older and need to notch down .
Thanks Ryan! The Hoodlum would be our preference because it’s aesthetically more pleasing, it has a narrower front wheel which makes the handling much more responsive, and it’s riding position with the tall wide bars is way better
Hi guys loving the channel as a new viewer, Im 19 and hopefully doing my cbt next month ive been looking at some bikes and love the cruiser style. However ive been torn between the sinnis hoodlum and the keeway superlight what would you recommend! keep up the good content very informative for people stepping into the motorbike world!
Thx for the review guys, will be getting one in the next couple of weeks, one question, when you said it's restricted, what exactly did you mean ? And can it get unrestricted :)
All 125's sold in the EU have to have their power restricted to under 14bhp. Usually this can be 'undone' by a few modifications (not legal for insurance/age unless you are over 19 and have passed A2 licence, then it's ok as long as you tell insurers).
No, you can't de restrict an air cooled, 4 stroke 125. Why do you think all the air cooled 125s make considerably less than the legally allowed 15hp. Mr Darcy or the old man are deeply misinformed on this one.
Another great review guys...never even heard of these bikes. But it's a smasher in the looks department. Some really nice design touches on this bike with such a basic budget. I reckon this bike could do well.
@@pododododoehoh3550 great bike, still loving it. Have almost rode 1000 miles on it already and had first service no issues at all. Would definitely recommend if getting a 125 and want cruiser style
We really liked this bike and it was the best 125 we’ve ridden, next to the Honda Monkey, in terms of engine power and delivery. It’s not possible to ascertain the reliability in the short time we had the bike. I think there’s a couple of owners who’ve commented below. 👍🏼
Looks nice. I mean if i was 18 and starting on a A1 lisence i'd buy this. Borrowed it's looks from a sportster. Looks cool. And must have amazing milage on a 125cc engine. Perfect student motorcycle.
Mr Darcy hi, thanx for the review of the Hoodlum... Both you & OL man also performed a review on the SINNIS Terrain Jul 17, 2020. Can you help?! as i can't make up my mind. Hoodlum? Terrain? Terrain? Hoodlum? it's just for 6 months while i complete my combined i have a lot of bike experience 50's to 1000's... [ i was a bike-shop repair man] both on and of the road. My recent [1st ever] CBT instructor says, I just need to lose the bad habits Can you guys help at all? I WILL NOT hold you guys to any 'You said's' Please advise. Here's To A Better 2021 .roly
looking for a 125cc to obviously drive until i'm more confident to go with anything more powerful. get my CBT, practice on a 125cc for a year, then go for my full licence since i'm 25yo. Need my freedom, and don't feel confident enough to drive a car so a bike is more suitable. only problem is, i'm 24 stone, trying to lose weight, working out daily. But, will this be ok for me to ride? problem is, I live in a town called Airdrie in scotland, and if you know airdrie, you know just hot large the hills are here, I think i'd have to push it up the hill every time XD
With the pipe this bike had, it’s more pokey than other 125’s we’ve ridden. You should be ok. The guy who used to service our 50cc used to ride that round the block to test it and he was about your weight. It won’t power up the hills but should get you there 👍🏼
Was looking at old Yamahas and Suzukis, but for £2,200 brand new, I might look at getting one of these. Im 5'9", and so if its big enough for you at 6'3", I reckon it could be okay for me! Need to go and get another CBT now. I got one a few years back and then things got in the way and I never ended up getting a bike or taking my test
Hi. Great review 👍 I am 6ft 5 and 17 stone, would this bike be suitable? Don't want to look ridiculous on my first bike! 37 years old, cbt next week and plan to ride 125cc for this season to get experience before das next year and a big bike. Cheers
So regarding 4:07, does the bike not start at all with the side stand down even in neutral? Thanks (Yes = It will start, No = It won't start, just to avoid confusion)
No it won’t start with the stand down at all, it’s designed to do this. It’s not a fault, it’s to remind the rider that the stand is still down so they don’t ride off with it down
They are similar but also different in a few ways. The hoodlum has a more stretched out riding position due to the mini apes and forward controls. The outlaw is a more upright position with mid controls. Personally I prefer the outlaws riding position but that’s down to preference. Other than that they are extremely similar.
Fantastic, honest, down to earth review. You guys are great. I'm looking to do my CBT although I'm a little late to the party (48). I've been looking at Keeway Superlight & Lexmoto Michigan until I saw this review. Now I'm really torn. You say it is restricted, how easy would it be to derestrict and what would the real world benefits be once a rider had moved on past the CBT stage of riding. Many thanks.
Thanks buddy, great to see a new person getting into riding. We actually realised it’s not restricted that’s just how much power it produces. You could do your cbt and ride one around for a few months before moving onto your full license if that’s what you’re looking at doing. Once you’ve done your full license there’s many many options out there
Got one of these as my first bike at the age of 45, 80 mpg is a lot less than I'm getting, I'm seeing over 200 miles out of £11 of fuel and I'm not going that slow 😁
@@NefariousOaf I've had it a couple of months now, I just didn't feel ready to direct access my way to a bigger bike, I have a lot to learn and the hoodlum is doing a good job helping me so far.
Wow it looks beautiful! I am soon making A1 license, I am not the naked bike or supersport guy, I like Cruisers and Choppers more! I think this is the bike I will go for! Edit: I have a question, do they ship? And if yes all around Europe?
I love me a good small bike! Dailied a rebel 250 for years.. and many scooters and mopeds before that.. only ride a 500 now because im bike only and needed something that could handle highway speeds comfortably.. 84 vt500 ascot. 500cc water cooled shaft driven six speed! awesome commuter thats still relatively small for parking on sidewalks and stuff.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan thank you for the fast reply. One last question. This bike, motorini box 125i or a Zontes ZT125 G1? These are the ones within my budget and i want something for distant rides yet something to quench the first for speed.
@Pj Mack hi! Yes saddle bags are legal and no you just need to do CBT and no theory required (unless and until you do the test; which you don’t have to do to ride a 125).
I have never heard of a Sinnis. Looks like a lot of motorbike for the money. But the Ol'Man will remember the MZ is the 70's that looked like a lot of motorbike for the money but we wouldn't buy. Is this the same scenario? Maybe a good second hand buy.
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man thanks! Ultimately I want one of the fatties but I’m not very patient. It probably makes sense to get something like a 48 special after the Hoodlum and then one of the bigger Harleys. We shall see!
I’m with you there. The Sinnis won for me after a few reviews. Thanks to the two gents here for their review. Hoping to grab me a Hoodlum in the new year.
I owned a Superlight for a year while working on my unrestricted licence. It got loads of positive comments for its looks, most people thinking it was a bigger displacement bike. It's big downside is its weight - don't be fooled by the name. It struggles to keep up with traffic on 60 mph roads and is absolutely stopped dead by any gradient. A lot of 125's are short on power, but the Superlight's weight really shows it up.
Knowing there is a possibility I'm going to check out a store today. All I somehow want is the Hyosung to have that extra power or even derestrict them, As I just love the look. But there isn't much Hyosung Stores in Manchester to really have a feel for it. Thank you for these videos. They have been really insightful.
OK great. Legality; maybe a strict test would say it’s too loud but it doesn’t happen. Lot’s of guys ride Harleys with mega loud pipes and never have issues
For sure.. Just watched your review of the hyosung 125..good stuff 👍🏻 Watched a TH-cam vid of a guy who took one from France to the Ukraine during lockdown to see his gf.... I'm 47 and as part of my midlife crisis I got my CBT last year 😂, want to get the full 125 licence ASAP and then seriously thinking of going from London to Vienna (back roads, 1000km) to see an old flame.. Just for the hell of it 🤟🏻... Which of the two bikes, or any other, would you recommend for such a journey? Might take panniers and a backpack, travelling light.. Can't see myself camping these days, more of the dodgy motel stuff..😂 Appreciate your advice and vids 👍🏻
@davidb1892 unfortunately I was ran off the road n had it stolen. I did get a new one, which I've had a year now, but it's currently locked in my ex's garage
Air cooked 125s are not restricted. They make around 12hp which is less than the legal 15hp. Why would they be restricted? The only 125s that that make the full 15hp are water-cooled.

Great! Let us know how you get on! Really nice bike, and it handles so well
Love it handles a treat 😁 not to bad sound for 125 stock exhaust too.
What would you say is the better all round option when deciding between the keeway super light and this, great vid 👍🏼
The Sinnis is the better option in our opinion, and they want to have happy customers; not just make money
You should take a look at the mutt mongrel
This bike looks amazing! Can you compare it to keeway superlight 125cc regarding the space on the bike. Specificially legs positioning. I'm also 6'3 but there are no sinnis hoodlom available in my country, and the keeway is closest thing to hoodlom available.
Thanks yes! We can’t get any Keeways at the moment
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Thanks anyway!
Haha 👍🏼 It’s a great bike 👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan I saw it earlier to have a look in person. It really looks great too. Btw, Im at your Sycamore dealership tomorrow. Want to spend a few hours going through the bikes Im interested in. Hope they have them all in stock.

Do you know any 50cc cruisers? I'm nearly 16 and I love the cruiser style
Alex Eynon I can’t think of any tbh. The UK used to have more 50cc’s but so few young people ride now, that there isn’t much choice
@@MrDarcy-OlMan that's ok thanks for the help anyway
Did your toro exhaust have a baffle in ? And how easy is it to remove the baffle, nice video mate
Hi, we’re not sure. This was a press bike. We review all kinds of motorcycles so we get given them for a week or two.
I've got the Lexmoto Michigan, the same bike different badge, and love it. I think the Michigan has higher bars and a little less HP but still massively fun to ride.
OK cool. Isn't it a lovely bike!
You could have it lower down on the rear mudguard 👍🏼thanks buddy
Great review man 👍, got myself a sinnis apache and installed a toro exhaust system to it, sounds great, sinnis bikes are brilliant 125cc bikes
Thanks buddy! Sounds awesome 👊🏼
Great review video, very honest and quite nicely detailed. Surprisingly nice bike. Ride safe and stay safe guys. Cheers!
Tony Thanks bro! We really enjoyed riding this bike, and its so inexpensive!
Great video i couldn't decide between the keeway superlight or the sinnis hoodlum and after watching this video im getting the sinnis hoodlum you talked about it on a rider point of view instead of a sales point of view which i really like
Ahh that’s awesome Dale! We think you’ll be very pleased with your decision. Glad the video helped 👊🏼
What type of torro exhaust have you got on the sinnis?
As far as I know, it's specially made by Toro for this bike.

@@MrDarcy-OlMan no problem guys! Looking forward to future videos! 👍
This video was 3 years ago so I guess prices have gone up 👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan thanks for your quick reply . I think it's a pretty good bike for 2.6k .
Hey guys great video your both really likable keep it up could you get your hands on a keeway superlight 125??
Thanks buddy. Maybe one day
I never ever heard of this manufacturer before; i think it is not available here in germany - what is very unfortunate.
Another cool bike for young people who are looking for an alternative style to KTM etc. with fewer plastic parts.
And the price is more than only all right.
By the way: the soundtrack fits much better than the one i complained about last time 😉🤘
Thx for that
Michi Schalusenbach Yes what a bike! Back to the Heavy Metal! Funny though, somebody else complained about Heavy Metal on another video!
hey you can buy the bike also in germany. it is selled as explorer inverro 125 at atu (Same bike, its the Zongshen RA1 Euro 4 which is selled with few different names)
Michael Pinjusic Thanks.
I'm 38 and just decided to start on my motorbike journey so did the CBT but due the fact I've never driven motorbike aside the CBT training I'm thinking to ride a 125 for a while before I go for full licence. Would you guys recommend this one to someone like me?
Yes definitely 👍🏼👍🏼
Bloody brilliant review 👌. Good job chaps
Thanks 😊 Nice of you to say 👊🏼
For a 125 cc it's not bad , it looks quite cool 😎 and sounds bigger than it is , 11 b h p seems above the normal for a 125 , price wise cheap what 17 year old love that , wish they'd have been around when I was 17 , another good video, keep them coming 🏍👍 also be good if your getting older and need to notch down .
Yes good points bro 💯
Great review guys. How does it compare to the Keeway Superlight? Which would you get given the choice and why? Thanks!
Thanks Ryan! The Hoodlum would be our preference because it’s aesthetically more pleasing, it has a narrower front wheel which makes the handling much more responsive, and it’s riding position with the tall wide bars is way better
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man Thanks guys. Earned a sub here 🤟🏻 All the best.
Just one thing... is it true that Lexmoto Michigan is the same bike or ... ? Appreciate your help. Apologies for all the questions 😂
Ryan Smith It looks like it shares some common parts, but not entirely the same.
Ryan Smith Thanks Ryan! Much appreciated 👊🏼
Hey Chaps, great video that led to me making an order for this bike. Can you confirm if it is restricted or not?
It’s within the legal power limit so in that sense it’s restricted because a 125 could make more.
@@MrDarcy-OlMan Thanks
Only good review on this bike! Keep it up, your videos are great 🤘🏻🔥
Thanks buddy! Check out tonight’s review!
We haven’t reviewed the keeway so can’t comment but I reckon they’re similar in quality. Go for the one you like the look of best
Thanks buddy. Yes it’s a sweet little bike! Great fun

@@pododododoehoh3550 great bike, still loving it. Have almost rode 1000 miles on it already and had first service no issues at all. Would definitely recommend if getting a 125 and want cruiser style

Thanks very much!
Seriously considering this bike, how do u feel it’s build quaintly and reliability is from a 1-10 I would not be red lining it or riding too rugged
*quality
We really liked this bike and it was the best 125 we’ve ridden, next to the Honda Monkey, in terms of engine power and delivery. It’s not possible to ascertain the reliability in the short time we had the bike. I think there’s a couple of owners who’ve commented below. 👍🏼
Thanks man great vid and thanks for getting back to me even after a year, ride safe

Mr Darcy hi, thanx for the review of the Hoodlum... Both you & OL man also performed a review on the SINNIS Terrain Jul 17, 2020.

No problem buddy! Hoodlum! 💯👍🏼
looking for a 125cc to obviously drive until i'm more confident to go with anything more powerful. get my CBT, practice on a 125cc for a year, then go for my full licence since i'm 25yo.
That's just it; old Japanese bikes are at least this much! It's a great bike for the money!
Is it easy to install that Toro exhaust by oneself?
Dave Bostock Although we didn’t do it, I’d say yes, very easy.
Can you customise it ??
Yes definitely
Get some leather saddle bags on that bad boy
Hi. Great review 👍 I am 6ft 5 and 17 stone, would this bike be suitable? Don't want to look ridiculous on my first bike! 37 years old, cbt next week and plan to ride 125cc for this season to get experience before das next year and a big bike. Cheers
There aren’t any ‘big’ 125’s but this is bigger than most, and it’s really good too 👍🏼
@@MrDarcy-OlMan cheers for the reply 👍 capable of hauling my ass along at a comfortable 60mph?
Honda Varadero is a big 125
Would you recommend this bike for someone over 24 who’s learning to ride through direct access or would a more powerful bike be better?
Might as well get something a little more powerful. We like the offerings from Royal Enfield 👍🏼
So regarding 4:07, does the bike not start at all with the side stand down even in neutral? Thanks (Yes = It will start, No = It won't start, just to avoid confusion)
No it won’t start with the stand down at all, it’s designed to do this. It’s not a fault, it’s to remind the rider that the stand is still down so they don’t ride off with it down
I've been debating between the Sinnis Hoodlum and the Outlaw for a while now and I'm so torn; how would you say they compare to each other?
They are similar but also different in a few ways. The hoodlum has a more stretched out riding position due to the mini apes and forward controls. The outlaw is a more upright position with mid controls. Personally I prefer the outlaws riding position but that’s down to preference. Other than that they are extremely similar.
For only £220 for that exhaust, I think I may be getting one of these and putting that exhaust on myself!
Good idea. It’s an easy job
Once you’ve done your full license there’s many many options out there
What did you end up going with?
Had to put a hold on it due to health issues. Decided to go straight to full license when I'm able.
Got one of these as my first bike at the age of 45, 80 mpg is a lot less than I'm getting, I'm seeing over 200 miles out of £11 of fuel and I'm not going that slow 😁
Brilliant! We’re glad it’s going well
I'm an older gent and considering this as a first bike... how long have you had it?
@@NefariousOaf I've had it a couple of months now, I just didn't feel ready to direct access my way to a bigger bike, I have a lot to learn and the hoodlum is doing a good job helping me so far.
Wow it looks beautiful! I am soon making A1 license, I am not the naked bike or supersport guy, I like Cruisers and Choppers more! I think this is the bike I will go for!
Edit: I have a question, do they ship? And if yes all around Europe?

@@gxkcan__5886 Still this one mate 👍🏼
@Pj Mack hi! Yes saddle bags are legal and no you just need to do CBT and no theory required (unless and until you do the test; which you don’t have to do to ride a 125).
I have never heard of a Sinnis.
Looks like a lot of motorbike for the money.
But the Ol'Man will remember the MZ is the 70's that looked like a lot of motorbike for the money but we wouldn't buy.

Maybe a good second hand buy.
Yes I remember the MZ and agree! The Sinnis is pretty good really
Fab review, as usual. Could someone go from one of these to a Fat Bob or Fat Boy Harley?
LeftyOtool Thanks! It’s a big jump but yes in theory, although the difference in torque especially, is like rowing boat to Titanic!
MrDarcy & the Ol'Man thanks! Ultimately I want one of the fatties but I’m not very patient. It probably makes sense to get something like a 48 special after the Hoodlum and then one of the bigger Harleys. We shall see!

Yes certainly.

I've been looking at this sinnis and the keeway superlight for my first bike. But I'm really struggling to make a final decision.
We haven’t ridden the Keeway but the Hoodlum was great!

How did it have good quality long term?
@davidb1892 unfortunately I was ran off the road n had it stolen. I did get a new one, which I've had a year now, but it's currently locked in my ex's garage
Can the restrictor be removed and if so, how will it behave?
Yes but it’s a combination of things that restrict them and it’s not that easy. It would be more responsive and accelerate much faster 👍🏼
Air cooked 125s are not restricted. They make around 12hp which is less than the legal 15hp. Why would they be restricted? The only 125s that that make the full 15hp are water-cooled.
