I watched your first videos about Skytear and immediately got hooked. I've been playing it on TTS since so thanks for that ! A few rule mistakes & clarifications if you don't mind (I've only watched the first hour so far so I apologize if they were addressed later) : 17:58 - Person who wins the coin flip *decides* who goes first. 48:20 - Actually it's the active player who gets priority FIRST, he may play one or more cards in response before passing priority. Same stacking rules as in Magic. 53:25 - Assuming you were referring to an active power card, they do not require an action, they only require to be cast by the active hero (with enough mana) and when the stack is empty. Reactive cards can be played whenever. 59:20 - Should have taken 1 damage, the skirmish did 2 damage minus Yami's 1 armor. 59:23 - Not a mistake but I feel like clarifying when a response can be made. As a general rule you can respond anytime an effect is *declared* or *resolved*. That is one reason why the Skirmish action is so interesting, you can say "i declare skirmish", and if your opponent does not immediatly respond (because he does not know what you will do during your skirmish), you get to resolve your whole skirmish action before he gets a chance to respond.
Watched this and immediately bought the whole lot. Love how you guys explain rules, chat, offer strategy, play openly. And its great to support a creative company like PVP Geeks.
This looks like fun. I can't justify spending money on games without a solo mode because I can't consistently play with others. If I could, however, this looks like one of the best I have seen in a while.
Yeah, definitely check out TTS, Wil. They've spent a lot of time making the implementation really good. There's a tutorial for how to play it there. It also sounds like a solo mode is in the works. We're happy to hear that!
Great stuff guys. Thanks for sharing this game with me, now I have something to fill the miniature skirmish and deck building hole that I have discovered in my hobby! (Much love from the distant land of Stillwater)
I love this game! I am so looking forward to watching these videos. Unfortunately, I don't get to play it much but hopefully, videos like this will grow the community. Thanks guys, great work as usual! Your original videos really helped me learn the game and was great to watch.
I didn't actually realise that this had only just come to retail. I remember seeing some people opening it up at a FLGS sometime last year - I guess they were kickstarter backers. I've managed to arrange a starter game with a friend over TTS so looking forward to trying it out (and ordering a box to get started painting!)
This game looks amazing but did you need to proxy a tower/pillar for a minion at 3:07:46? If that is the case I'm puzzled...why wouldn't they provide enough in the game?
Hi! Nice video, I'm so glad that you made a deal with Skytear and that you feel the same way I'm for this amazing game and the hard work and passion behind it. Will you offer the French version of the game with your subscription service? Thanks
Team Covenant rules! This game looks fun. The board and box art are cool. Card art, not so much. For me, that's pretty much a deal breaker. Too bad they couldn't commission Fernanda Suarez (Ashes).
Hi Team Covenant, love your videos! I'm primarily an Ashes fan, but I was intrigued by Skytear so I'm giving this a watch. One thing I'm kind of confused about is at the 48 minute mark, Zach is attacking Steven's minions with a skirmish action. But looking at the Hero Actions reference card, it seems to imply that Skirmish can only be used against Heroes, it says "Deal 0(plus card) damage to an enemy hero (no minions)." Am I confused or am I missing something? Regardless, thank you for providing such great videos during the past year+. It's been great to be able to watch you during these times of social isolation!
It really doesn't. The heroes are a small part of the deckbuilding and in-game choices. We've been playing with basically the same heroes from the start.

You absolutely need to stream an 8 player game. It would be epic.

Wil Young buy it for playing with friends, play online through Tabletop Simulator for when theres nobody to play with ;).

@@teamcovenant Solo mode would be good to see!

Cannot recommend enough!
Great video!! Would you advice the game for die hard" certain famous moba" fans but a little rusty about the board game part?

We only had to do that because we weren't very good at that point. Hasn't happened since :)
What are your thoughts on Skytear vs Godtear in terms of replay ability, depth, and general fun? Any distinct advantages to one over the other?

Right now, the partnership is only in the US market, but we're definitely looking at options to expand into more markets. Would love to serve France!
In fact, I was asking for Canada (Montreal), but I understand that the French version isn't the most wanted version on the US market.

Cards look great to us.

Great to hear! You shouldn't be able to Skirmish a minion. If Zach did that, it was incorrect!
which pair of expansions are more necessary in case of strategic depth and synergy? b/r or y/g?
Ah, impossible! They're all super depthful. It's all about your favorite flavor, really. Which factions do you prefer? Go with that!
Doesn't it become boring after few games if you have only 8 heroes..?
It really doesn't. The heroes are a small part of the deckbuilding and in-game choices. We've been playing with basically the same heroes from the start.
@@teamcovenant Thanks for response. I will try it 😊
You know the game's good when part 1 of playing it is 4h long
What was the discount code?
It’s “covenant” at checkout. Gives you a free expansion when you buy the base game.
What makes it skytare and not skytear? It's spelled the same way as godtear but you're pronouncing it dirrently. Just curious.
The English language makes it that way. Bass and bass are spelled the same and are pronounced differently as well. Yay English!
Would be cool with a video without so much fluff talk it takes soooooo much time to watch the game get played no offense. Good job either way
