I never used to leave anything on at night, because it was too distracting, but having someone's voice speaking in the background is comforting. It also helps keep my brain from cycling through all the same anxious ruminations. If I'm feeling REALLY anxious, that's when Kit comes on. April is an especially dangerous scammer with her good English, gaslighting, and above average scammer intelligence. She could succeed in working a legit job for a legit company. I think she's scamming both out of greed and she lacks the manners to work a real customer service job, considering the way she said "You’re old enough to know...." I wouldn’t be surprised if she was fired from an honest job for being condescending to callers.
These scammers are especially annoying to me because they make my job harder. I work in a reservations office. Three of our agents work remotely in Jamaica and because of these scams when a credit card declines on top of having to do my own tasks for hte day I have to be the one to call the guest and tell them their card declined, because they will NEVER give the girls from Jamaica their card number over the phone.

This is a common scam for trade shows. I got to a haunted attraction trade show and the same scam gets sent to its vendors and attendees. I imagine this happens everywhere. It prays on people’s ability to get a room at a good rate, the Halloween trade show is in March and the rooms usually book this month or earlier. And the Gaylord is an awesome hotel, went to one in San Antonio, great place to stay and even better for events like this.
Not directly, the ideas and setup are often produced and sold separately. I suppose that would be the 'scam artist' I've heard at least one of them is American - it may be common to use local people for these scam ideas. They can work quickly too, the vaccine scams cropped up nearly overnight

So these are extremely tricky. I know of legit businesses that do this. We use a third party to book hotels for my son's sports team for our tournaments. They require you to use it for all sport teams booking for the tournament. Their site may show that the hotel is book, but you can still get a room on the hotels website (not sure how it works but have had families call the hotel directly to book). At least from my experience, the reason they show full on our tournaments is because teams will place a hold on 20-40 rooms per team and they allow these holds for 2 weeks. They do this so they can send out the link for the families to reserve their rooms without the person placing the hold to pay for all the rooms upfront. Any rooms not booked in that time will open up again and show availability. Hope this makes sense haha. A lot of this really feels very similar to the legit businesses if this truly was a scam.
So strange, it's almost as if the scam is to get bookings for the Spring Hill hotel... the script is the same, but they aren't in connection with the hotel. So I wonder if it's just the rates are better so they make more off the top. Otherwise I don't understand what their motivation is.
Don’t be so quick to accuse her of a lie. Hotels who have 3rd parties book reservations often make a number of rooms available through the 3rd parties and if the hotel doesn’t book them themselves then they make more rooms available through the 3rd party.
