Wasn’t expecting such a good video. I have been working in real estate in Gwadar for the last 5years and sadly our politics and policy makers have failed in gwadar . They could’ve focused on and started making money from gwadar but the sad reality is we don’t have the expertise and the loyalty to do so . I feel bad for the people including myself who have invested time and money in gwadar. Also some points haven’t been mentioned like the lack of electricity and water the basic needs for a city are still 5years behind us

True facts about Gwader Port as a Mariner i also know by visiting after World Thats why it failed and Karachi Port in Kemari is the heart of CPEC as Chinese making berths there....For Gwader in video for next 10 years is nill but i say for generations years or more will be nill as in next 30-35 years all oil in Gulf will finish and alternate Electric power technology(Lithium Batteries) will be flourishing in the world so no reasonable shipping will be in strait of Hormiz And so no importance of Gwader for cashing it strategically....Time and tide waits for none...
Dear Capt Zahid,Just to inform that during late 60's there was a comprehensive studies about developing a second port in Pakistan by a consortium of a German and Pakistani consultants comparing Karachi with possible ports on Baluchistan cost, Somiani was selected as most viable port even 4 times more commercially productive than Karachi at that time, it was already planned to develop it but after ZAB takeover all those funds were utilised to develop PQ which was not needed at all mainly because of Steel Mill but in reality ZAB biased policies towards Baluchistan. If you can get hold of that document from somewhere it would be really a knowledgeable experience for you.
You are Absolutely right. Because i did work in dubai port (DP world). It has 4 terminals, and 30 births over all in 4 terminals, and the depth of the port is 20 meters, and am talking about only 1 port of UAE even UAE have more ports like sheikh zaid port and abu dabhi port. If we do comparison with Gawadar with only 3 births and 13.5 meters of depth, so this is really nothing 🙃

Hi, based on my experience and understanding number of berth doesn't always mean equal number of vessels can berth. Berthing capacity depend on LOA of a vessel. Also draft of the vessel is not always at the maximum cap because u need to keep on harness blast tanks... but yes we are missing basic activity at Gwadar which is a fact no proper infrastructure or legislation of law and working principles are defined or you can say TOR to ease trade and cross border trade.

Outstanding information Sir. On my last vessel, we berthed at Saint Petersburg Russia. And believe me, depth limit of this port was equal to Baltic sea depth limit. (15m) it's really stunning how such port can have so good depth. Comparatively, depth of Gawadar port is nothing.

Came across your video. Truly a good source of information. Being in neighbour from so long, I feel pity on Pakistan despite of good resources available, Pakistan has failed to utilise it. Infact, sirf durust karna hai, strategically fit ho jaayega,. Look at Singapore, they had literally nothing, they build from scratch and they carry one of the strongest passport in the world. Everyone has challenges in the world, it is mindset and attitude of leadership how they want to move.
Good analysis with regard to master mariner capacity. Gawadar also has a very important issue of security with the local tribes. Local tribes and the people of Balochistan are not taken on board while building this Gawadar port.

Kindly teach me why the depth of the port get reduced?
If i recall correctly, it were the Americans who were very interested in the development of Gawadar port. Going back to 1960, a delegation of US Navy expressed interest in mapping the under sea expanse of Pakistan coastal areas. The reason they put forward was that it will provide useful information about the fishery life and its future development which was rejected by the then President Ayub on the advice of Pakistan Naval authorities.

Hey Zahid Bhai, I feel relaxed of learning the facts about Gawadar. It's quite obvious many a Government Projects are failed owing to poor maintenance, and same is the case may observe here. Anyhow your statistical research of fallen depth left me contemplate whether we litter the sea or dump the whole country's garbage into the sea 😅. Kindly teach me why the depth of the port get reduced?

Wow! The most informative video on Gwadar i have ever seen!
If i recall correctly, it were the Americans who were very interested in the development of Gawadar port. Going back to 1960, a delegation of US Navy expressed interest in mapping the under sea expanse of Pakistan coastal areas. The reason they put forward was that it will provide useful information about the fishery life and its future development which was rejected by the then President Ayub on the advice of Pakistan Naval authorities.

کراچی بورٹ اب محض پانچ سال کے بعد نا قابل استعمال ہو چکی ہوگی . نئ جسے ہم چاینا پورٹ کے نام سے پکار رہے ہین اسکو کوئ سڑک ہی نہین جاتی . بن قاسم۔پورٹ کا ڈرافٹ بھی کم ہوچکا ہے . اب صرف گوادر پورٹ ژے ہی کوی امید ہے . باقی جو بچا ہے گورے چور لی گیے ہین
