MS Excel is different from Google Sheets. Title is totally misleading. You’re basically editing a MS Excel file through Google Sheets, converting it into a Google Sheets file.
@@tommj4365 Yep! MS Excel collaboration 3 years ago was a mess! Users need to download the file first, edit, save, and then upload to sharepoint/one drive. But now, it has the online feature which I think is good but needs more improvements. But to use the online version, you'll have to buy the Office 360.

What about VBA enabled workbook? My workbook has VBA codes. Could you please tell me how this file can be shared to be updated and synced with other users in Office 365?

Hi, I have shared excel sheet with 25 user on local network. When someone open the sheet they get all the record available in sheet. I want to set a security when any user open a sheet he will get only his projects not any other user data and one admin user who will see all the projects and update if needed. Suppose there are X, Y, Z ... users. If X user opened sheet he will get only his projects not of Y or any other.
Create vba, after workbook started run command to hide all worksheets. Then show userform to select user then ask for password. Visible sheets you want after user enter his password.

You can't add a macro file in there either. So it is a little misleading. If you doing basic calculation stuff, then it is fine. However, you still have to create your formula first, then upload in your google drive.

Yea thanks so this is exactly what doesn't work lol. Sheets cannot copy Excel's functions and will destroy the entire formats. So if you are trying to use excel for its intended purpose, this will not work.

Excel has an online version too, that allows multiple people to edit at the same time. Maybe it didn't exist 3 years ago, not sure...

Excel is miles away from Google Sheets, GS is just a simple lite version for clerical online stuff. Heavy work requires Excel.
