This looks like a huge step forward! Thanks to MrGrynch coding this update and for your input with the specifications. I look forward to your new videos. Which version of VpinMame will this be included in?
Hi iDigStuff, first thanks a million for this fantastic stuff (e.g. Guns N' Roses DE 1994 sounds). Just a question : is existing a "G-Sound" logo (compliant), it's to add it in PinUP Popper for concerned tables (such "Powered by G-Sound" or something similar) ;) Thanks in advance.
I'm unable to get altsound g-sound for totan_14 table.. I put sound pack in the name of rom in vpinmame under the name of altsound, then ran the table, pressed f1 to enable altsound ( from 0 to 1), but I still can't get the altsound work.. help please
Do your other altsounds and gsounds work fine for other tables? If so then you should post your question to the specific thread for that altsound. Also double check the altsound name on the folder to make sure it matches exactly the same as the script. Some tables have multiple script options that are similar.
Where abouts is this located? I have a few altsounds that are uploaded to VPU that I would like to upgrade to G-Sound instead of AltSound, I'm trying to look at the VPINMAME folder, but there's nothing there!
Hi ! Just a question. Is the format of the sound must be ogg 44.1 khz 16 bits ? Is hd sounds like 48 khz or 96khz 24 bits works ? (Maybe another formats like mp3 or flac?). Thx !
I know the ogg and wav file types will work. I believe any sample and bit rate should work. Anything over 24bit 48Khz for this type of application is just wasting disk space imo.
Maybe a dumb question, but in terms of using these files, is it the same as the old altsounds, or does it require a different value in the rom's altsound parameter?
This is a great introduction. With the first g-sound in the wild, getting a VERY positive reception, I think you're going to be a busy, busy man!
This is a game changer for VPX audio! Thanks a million. Even I think I understood this tutorial. Kudos and cheers!
Thanks for your work on this. Looking forward to updated altsounds
Awesome video bro! Thank you for ALL of your help!

Not aware of an official logo if that is what you're asking. @grynchsvirtualpinball may have thoughts. Thanks!

@iDigStuff oh thanks.. I found out that I have run them on vpinmame 3.6 and not 3.5 ... it's working now perfectly

Everything is built into Vpinmame. There isn't anything to do except create your project.

@@iDigStuff Thx for answer ! Agree with 48khz 24bits is far enough.

Still uses 1 just like regular altsounds.
