You’re very creative!! Thank you for embracing and respecting other cultures. If all of us were more accepting just imagine the how the world could be. Merry Christmas 🎄🎁 from South Carolina USA.
Yes, Gnocchi are soft and pillowy Italian dumpling made of potatoes. They have a delicate taste of potatoes, they taste really good simply tossed with butter, salt, black pepper and Parmesan cheese.
Merry Christmas from Los Angeles, California! Your videos are such lovely gifts, and especially today! Thank you! Wishing you a most wonderful new year. ❤
Yes Linna, "gnocchi" are dumpling made mainly of potatoes. Three of the simplest ways we Italians have them are: 1. with melted butter and fresh chopped sage leaves (or alternatively dry sage) 2. with tomato sauce 3. with basil pesto But of course you can put them in soups as well.
I’d say they are not like dumplings at all. While gnocchi and dumplings share some similarities, gnocchi are typically made from potatoes, a bit of flour, and salt, without any filling. It's great to see how different cultures have their own variations of dough-based dishes, but I would avoid confusing those who may not be familiar with the typical foods of a culture. 😊
@@QWERTY-zg7wx Perhaps the problem does not really exist as "dumpling" is an English word and I'm quite sure that throughout Asia this food is not called "dumpling" but in other ways that is with words in each different Asian Language. You would need to speak fluently several Asian languages to really grasp the meaning of those national terms and then evaluate the correct translations in European languages and terms.

Merry Christmas, Linna! I hope you and your family had an enjoyable Christmas and received everything you wanted, especially your boys! I’m enjoying watching your video now after my husband’s family has gone home, and after Christmas Day. It was a nice way to finally unwind after a long day of cooking, opening gifts ( lol!), and being a hostess to everyone!
And home made gnocchi are like fluffy little pillows. Well worth making them from scratch - they're easy, fun to make and too many recipes overcomplicate the process! Homemade, even if not perfect will always beat those in packets. (I learned how to make them from my Mum, decades ago). Cheers from Oz!!
I had a visit from my older sister on Monday. We had not seen each other since 1981! It was like we had not seen each other in a few weeks. It was great.
Try the gnocchi! Your boys will like it, I think. It's like a really thick dumpling. My daughter was a little picky eater, but she loved them when she was small. She still does. They are really good in a creamy soup with chicken and spinach.
Merry Christmas Linna!! I've never made a meatloaf with boiled eggs like that. I'll have to put the eggs in my meatloaf next time. Also, from time to time, I'll fix mashed potatoes with veggies in it. It was a good way to get my son to eat vegetables when he was a little boy. Thank you for another enjoyable video, again¹
Hello, Linna! Merry Christmas! It is only about 11:45am when typing this. My family and I finished our gift exchange and I am very happy with my treasures. I got some new shirts, a calendar for my room, some money, and some other things. It's fun opening gifts, but I am very worn out afterwards for some reason. Sending you and your family love, as always.
When I used to get bad menstral cramps, I would use the Chinese herb Dong Quai. It really helped. Perhaps that is what you picked up. I hope you have a Happy New Year and Happy Holidays.
I'll have to buy the J. R. R. Tolkien book you were reading about Father Christmas. It looks interesting, plus I love all of Tolkien's other books. A book that calms me is Cold Comfort Farm by Stella Gibbons. It's a bit hard to read because it's written in a British dialect. It's also a very good film. Happy Christmas to you and your family and friends!
This was such a wonderful video, Linna...so nice that you all got to visit with old friends, especially your Secondary School friend, after all these years. No, you are not out of date & neither am I...why change things so much, when the older ones still work just fine? I never understand, but I've sorta changed myself to not buy them too...unless, of course, there is something really special about the product, that I would use often. A lot of these new things, do the same as the old, but their prices are super high, so I just continue to use what I already have. Yes, your soup looks very spicy, but I bet the flavor is excellent too. For me, I always have to watch one special Christmas movie..."A Christmas Carol"...we have such traditions, each one of us, for the holiday season. I love the idea of the blanched, chopped broccoli in the potato salad...I never would have thought to do that! YUM...you Christmas dinner looks amazing, Linna!!! Thank you so much for sharing, Linna...& Blessing & love to you & "your" boys...Merry Christmas to you all, as well!! 🙏♥🎄🎍
Merry Christmas Linna from my family to yours. We are not Christian aswell but we see it as family holiday NOT reglion thing. Gift giving and joyous times surrounded by our loved ones and remembering our dearly departed. Sadly we've been poorly fighting the flu and I've ended up getting an ear infection aswel 😢 but it hasn't stop us celebrating it. ✌️ 🎉 chin-chin 🍸
Merry Christmas to you and yours! You have no sagging and loose skin! You look about 20 years old! I ended up getting covid this Christmas, but I've never had it before, so I guess I've been lucky? I love Curel products. I also like Eucerin and Aquaphor. It gets VERY dry in Texas in the winter, and at 62, my hands are more vulnerable to it. So I get the very strong stuff. Your husband's pho looked so GOOD. Gnocchi is my favorite, and I'm Italian-American! You can make them so many ways - with tomato sauce & little mozzarella balls, with pesto, you can parboil them, then finish them by sautéing in olive oil and garlic with some red pepper flakes. (My favorite!) If you do the last one, you can also add some kind of green into the sauté. I used to make gnocchi from scratch with my grandmother, just sitting at the table and rolling those little dumplings out, over and over. It's a cherished memory. What an interesting way to make garlic toast - I'll have to try it! My mom used to put eggs in meatloaf like that too. The holiday season is a time to be with family and enjoy the love. And that means Christmas or Hannukah or Yule or Solstice or whatever you celebrate! MERRY CHRISTMAS
Merry Christmas. Your video came out as I was still with family so didn't have time to watch it earlier. The weather looks beautiful still over there. Here we hadn't had any sun in weeks. My husband loves electronic as well. Always dangerous going into such a shop. Gnocchi is basically an Italian version of imo mochi, no strong taste. So I think your boys won't have any problem with it. You can pair it with different sauces or even pan fry it for a crispy version. Your meatloaf looks delicious. I often make meatloaf but put it in the slowcooker. I should try adding eggs sometime but I think it's better to bake it in the oven if I do that. The slowcooker might be to much for the eggs.
@@PopsieLouisiana59do you know how to make homemade hamburgers? If so, make it and instead of making patties, put in a loaf pan or just a sheet pan and shape it into a loaf. Or just look up recipes on here, there should be a ton.

I know your boys like Pokémon. I have 2 cards of Pokémon. Crabrawler and Meowth. Do they have them, and if not, would they like to have them? The cards are in excellent shape and I would give them to the boys if they want them.
shes using a specific device (the flat black thing) to poke a hole into them, you can do the same thing with a thumbtack. poking a hole before boiling helps them peel easier and stops them from exploding.
