pure chills. every once in a while you run into something so beautiful it overwhelms your capacity to appreciate it all at once, so all you can do is cry for beauty that transcends petty human conflicts.
This anime changed my life. That's all I can really say - from the content/story to the music and everything in between. It all profoundly shaped who I am and I know there's many others like this out there too. You aren't alone.
Not going to argue with that, I hold it up as the overall best anime of all time. There are some story arcs that hit harder and better for me in Berserk, top among them being Conviction Arc: Lost Children in the manga (which is amazingly depressing, just a heads up) and much of the music is very, very good to the original anime, but it had flaws, mostly due to the low budget. I hold Susumu Hirasawa in *slightly* higher regard than Yoko Kanno, but only by a bit.
Mai's solo at 4:12. The power behind that just... shattered my heart. And dat mic screech at around 4:19... That's confirmation that no mic in the world can handle the power of this song, especially when Mai is singing it.

this show tricks you into thinking you're watching a great action adventure show. then the final episode reveals you were watching a grand tragedy the whole time.
It’s different hearing them REALLY perform it right? I found this version for the first time back in 2007 (had been watching the show since 2001 when it first came to the states) and this performance made me realize why the ost was so damn good. These people all gave a shit about their craft and what they were doing. An international mashup of insanely talented musicians and performers …..there’s nothing like it man
This is part of The Seatbelts - Yoko Kanno & Mai Yamane - Souvenir of Tokyo (live) The whole thing can be found on TH-cam, its wonderful. A concert I would have been pround to go too.
Damnit! The singer is lisening (probably to ear-buds) for cues when to sing... and, in such an environment, a measure off. The "live" music tries admireabley to compensate... [THIS is why I hate the idea of using "pre-recorded' stuff to compliment REAL and LIVE performers!] I wanted to hear a LIVE version of this song, as far as I know, this is all that exists. (I am curious as to how the rest of the concert went!)
The Bebop soundtrack is pure art.
Yoko Kanno is a genius.
You got that right.
I just read that Kanno will compose the OST of the live action, too!
Cowboy bebop, in general, is pure art
Pure art
When the guitar comes on in the beginning... man... it's like returning home.
A minute of silence for all those who cried on stage... and the ones that are crying at the screen right now 😔
Greatest feeling of a song ever
Ive never felt such soul coming from one singer!
@@Tidnullshe literally let EVERYTHING out there towards the end…..so good damn beautiful
YOU'RE GONNA CARRY THAT WEIGHT.
pure chills. every once in a while you run into something so beautiful it overwhelms your capacity to appreciate it all at once, so all you can do is cry for beauty that transcends petty human conflicts.
It’s really nice that people are still here listening tot his version of the song , it’s amazing

This resonates with me.
Thank you ..... it changed my life as well , thank you so much for this comment
There are more of us, just like you. Look for us. ;)
I don't care about anything else, Cowboy Bebop was and always will be the Best Anime of All Time.

It’s the best ever. I’ve watched so many shows for so many years and nothing has come close

Vi la serie completa hace más de 20 años y todavía sigo fascinado por la banda sonora .. me parte el alma , no puede ser tan perfecta lpm
God damn, the song hits you harder when you find out what the show' sending was all truly about.
What was it about?
Murderous Johnny Dealing with your past.
Skull Knight god that hurt.
the protagonist dies
@@aiaelmokadem8606
That’s actually debatable.
my god the live version sounds so much better!! ;;;;D!
at 0:00 i immediately got goosebumps. personally i dont think anything can top this
Blue
Seatbelts
Never seen a blue sky
Yeah I can feel it reaching out
And moving closer
There's something 'bout blue
Asked myself what it's all for
You know the funny thing about it
I couldn't answer
No I couldn't answer
Things have turned a deeper shade of blue
And images that might be real
May be illusion
Keep flashing off and on
Free
Wanna be free
Gonna be free
And move among the stars
You know they really aren't so far
Feels so free
Gotta know free
Please
Don't wake me from the dream
It's really everything it seemed
I'm so free
No black and white in the blue
Everything is clearer now
Life is just a dream you know
It's never ending
I'm ascending
not quite, at the very end it is now a "We're"
Oh God damn... my chest..
rawr Xd crIes awoo.. ;(
I keep coming back again and again, Mai's performance is haunting
see you abuelita :'(
The opening to this song is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard
I wonder how many times this has been performed at a funeral.
Alonzo Branson So many times.
this show tricks you into thinking you're watching a great action adventure show. then the final episode reveals you were watching a grand tragedy the whole time.
It’s a character study my friend. The story already happened for every character pretty much. What we watched was them dealing with the trauma
This song tears me up EVERY TIME.
One of the few song in any genre of music that makes me really Feel.
정말 레전드중의 레전드다. 가수의 감정이 전율을 타고 느껴진다.
My eyes immediately start to water when i hear so much as the first note of this song
Oof! Amazing. I've loved that song for years, but this is the first time I have seen it performed. Wow.

Noviembre 2021 y esta pieza sigue siendo una de las más transcendentales del anime.
Chills and goosebumps all over, all the time.
Obra prima.
God damn it. Thanks for making me cry.

Amazing performance ! My favorite in the world.
Holy. Fuck... What a woman.

I know this song is wonderful, I still remember it, but it makes me so sad that I cannot listen to it (seriously).

Gonna be free
And move among the stars
You know, they really aren't so far
Holy shit....damn.

I always hurt. Even today
I had to buy a new computer because this song was too powerful for my old one.
This is how the old era was.

Life is but a dream.
Life is only a dream. We need to wake up.

Si spike, ya voy para allá también...
The singer is Mai Yamane
You're gonna carry that weight.
Sounds like Gabriela Robin at the beginning. Ahh Yoko Kanno, singing beautifully from the shadows
BANG
Fucking amazing. :D
Mai Yamane, que sentimiento.
Poor Jet and Faye will be lonely now
"They're gonna carry that weight"

[ BLUE ]
" Lesu messiah ut ; tu mea di cantus " (Latin)
(Jesus as messiah; you are my gods)
- Gabriela Robin ( = Yoko Kanno)
I’ve seen that translated as “Jesus Messiah, come to heal”
👉😭
Fuck T_T
이런 예술이 나올 수 있는 일본이 부럽다 한국은 미쳐있어... 돈과 순위에
who sings the intro?
Blue Mei
@@luisen0474 thanks!
In this concert, it was Maaya Sakamoto.
The album version was a boy soprano named Soichiro Otsuka with Gabriela Robin (Yoko herself).
Is it Yoko singing?
Not. She is Mai Yamane, the song was composed by Yoko Kanno.
Richard Stiv Murcia Huerfano Oh, thanks
I think Yoko Kanno is the one that sings the intro to the song, though. Like, the parts with the choirs.
No. The one singing at the beginning of the song is Maaya Sakamoto.
100%. Definitely Maaya's voice there
who´s the singer?
俺が死んだ時の鎮魂歌にしてほしい
Jesus Christ dude...
90% of modern songs are trash
