In case anyone doesn't know Vampire The Masquerade is part of the World of Darkness rpg series which started in pencil and paper form like dungeons and dragons. The original games were Vampire, Werewolf The Apocalypse, Wraith The Oblivion, Mage The Awakening (i think) and Changeling (don't recall the subtitle). Vampires are separated into clans. The main character is an Assamite which are mostly if not all Middle Eastern. The vamp that he went to visit is part of the Nosferatu clan. They are all deformed and look like the vampire from the silent film Nosferatu. If that woman he was talking about that is "not all there" is a vampire she's probably a Malkavian because they are all nuts. The rulebooks were mostly for playing vampires, werewolves, mages, Fae and Wraiths but other things were eventually introduced like Hunters, Kinfolk (humans related to werewolves), The Risen (wraiths who got back in their bodies and were walking corpses), other werecreatures like rats, spiders, different cat types, sharks, bears, foxes, coyotes, reptiles, snakes, crows/ravens, and hyenas. Think that's all of the official ones that existed in modern times. There were others like the Werebats, boars and bulls but they were wiped out before the modern setting.
The original Changeling book was subtitled The Dreaming. Do want to point out that in a later version (the New World of Darkness), they did add rules for a few others - Humans, Geists (Humans brought back from the brink of death with the help of a ghostly hitchhiker, and Prometheans (a sort of Frankenstien-style monster).
Mage the Awakening is from Chronicles of Darkness not World of Darkness, World of Darkness has Mage the Ascension, also Changeling the Dreaming, Hunter the Reckoning, Demon the Fallen, Mummy the Resurrection(which is so rare for anyone to remember), Orpheus which is a supplement to Wraith the Oblivion, and a general supplements that is Sorcerer, don't look into anything else they made
Chronicles of Darkness is completely different setting with different lore setting and mechanics, similarties are just gothic urban fantasy in the modern world and playing monsters and these stuff, it has Vampire the Requiem, Werewolf the Forsaken, Mage the Awakening, Promethean the Created, Changeling the Lost, Hunter the Vigil, Geist the Sin-Eaters, Mummy the Curse, Demon the Descent, Beast the Primordial, Deviant the Renegades And the mortal line of playing just a normal basic arse humans or psychics like Chronicles of Darkness(the core rulebook titled the Bluebook by the community), Hurt Lockers, and Chronicles of Darkness aka the Bluebook includes also the God-Machine Chronicle which is one of the best new fresh Cosmic Horror games that don't rely on squids or Lovecraft stuff like Cuthulu
Also it got the Contagion Chronicle which is kinda the same boat as the God-Machine Chronicle but on a grander scale and the threat is more immediate and present rather than always hiding in plain side turning the world into shit slowly and driving it into stagnation or whatever the God-Machine purpose and agenda are, it is present, it is immediate, and things are going haywire fast!
IIRC White Wolf, the company that created Vampire the Masquerade actually sued the makers of Underworld for plagiarism. Appears to have been settled out of court.
27:00 The Beast is something all Vampires have, and have to deal with on a nightly basis. It is essentially the inner animal we humans have, your lizard brain given form within your psyche (though that's a very layman's way of explaining it) and is what drives vampires to feed or it threatens to drive them mad with hunger. Otherwise known as Frenzying. The beast can be staved off by regular feeding and, ironically, embracing a simulacrum of your humanity. having habits and searching for things to occupy your time and the like. which is also the reason why the older a vampire become, the more jaded and "inhuman" they tend to become. This is also indirectly the reason you don't see many super powerful vampires on the regular, since the less interest one has in remaining in the world of the living the longer they tend to stay in *Torpor* (the daily *sleep* vampires go into at dawn.) Edit: A Frenzy can also occur in moment of high stress, your Fight Or Flight driven to the extreme in which your beast tend to take over for a time and ether flee to safety or destroy a large area around it in an effort to fend off whatever threatened it. which is something the *Camarilla* VERY much do not want. This series is very in depth and i could write for hours... but i think i'd better stop here otherwise it'll just be an even more massive block of text than it already is...
Another good game for the World of Darkness serie, cool ! And, just so that you know, vampires, in world of darkness, struggles to keep as much humanity possible, to not completely become monsters

"That's what i expected" This one line you said after you threw the bottle on the floor and it smashed is something so critical for all VR game developers to hold at the front of their minds when making a VR game world feel properly satisfying. You want to be able to interact with objects. You want things to bounce or break appropriately 'as you expect' For me games in VR always break down when the interactivity hasn't been properly thought through in this way.

In vampire the masquerade justice: VTMJ for short, you play as a Banu (childer of / children of) Haqim . Formerly known as assamite Second oldest clan in the vampire the masquerade, and they’re the deadliest in art of assassins and killing, they’re Arabic old vampires descendent from Haqim the first judges , their thirst for justice only match their thirst for other vampire vita (blood life) which it’s their curse by the Baail , their second curse I reminded you, their first curse is growing darker with age. Other clans will be immediately be in fear if they know that they’re in room with one of Banu Haqim . They’re the first who created the blood sorcery, their own version is Quietus, is art of created poison out of your own blood and band control of others blood as well, celerity the art of supernatural speed, Obfuscate the art of disguise and disappear in sight. It’s good choice for this game to play as such! And yes! Before you ask , the Giovanna family (the mafia necromancy family of vampires) have a cost so much trouble to Banu Haqim and Qabilat al-Mawt (Cappadocian in Ashhira and also the original clan of death) a lots of hate and troubles .

[voiceover] The war had all but ground to a halt in the blink of an eye. Lucian, the most feared and ruthless leader ever to rule the Lycan clan, had finally been killed. The Lycan horde scattered to the wind in a single evening of flame and retribution. Victory, it seemed, was in our grasp, the very birthright of the vampires. Nearly six centuries had passed since that night, yet the ancient feud proved unwilling to follow Lucian to the grave. Though Lycans were fewer in number, the war itself had become more perilous, for the moon no longer held her sway. Older, more powerful Lycans, were now able to change at will. The weapons had evolved, but our orders remained the same: Hunt them down and kill them off, one by one. A most successful campaign. Perhaps too successful. For those like me, a Death Dealer, this signaled the end of an era. Like the weapons of the previous century, we, too, would become obsolete. Pity, because I lived for it. - Selene
On the wall 27:42 it says "what's happened to this city", you're confusing "cose = things" with "cos'è = what is" , the verb is "successo" which dictates the time period of the phrase (in this context "cos'è = what has").
