Hey there ✌ Thanks very much glad you liked it. The X-T30 is a little beast of a camera as you may have heard me say before haha Great choice glad you're enjoying it.
Good day! I would like to give advice on setting up the fuji xt30 and actually setting up the film simulation. The problem is that if I set the actual simulation settings in the menu, everything can be set there, sharpness, Dr200, etc. In addition to the WB setting. Here, when I want and have to set e.g. R -7, B 4 cannot enter the menu at all! It works with the classic standard menu. How is it possible? I have 7 settings that I can set, but WB does not work at all. I need advice on how to set it up. Thank you! Vojtek
Thanks for this excellent tutorial. I understand that adjusting the settings in camera will help achieve the image I’m after in camera as a Jpeg. Your explanation is much appreciated.
Hey Peter! Thanks, glad to hear it was helpful. It really can make a nice difference and allow you to end up with a photo that looks great straight out of camera. Appreciate the support btw 😀✌
Thanks very much man appreciate that. Oh good stuff, cinestill has a pretty unique look to it. I'm sure if you combine it with a cinesoft or mist style filter you could get something pretty close to the real look. I actually have a roll of it for the film camera which I look forward to trying out at some point. Cheers again!
This is a dumb Q, but when you input a film simulation in the IQ settings, is it the raw or the JPEG (or both) that the film sim is filtering through the image? I know you can select an array of film sims with the bracket, and advanced tabs on the command dial, so I'm just wondering what the difference is?
Great video, thank you for sharing the content that you guys do, i’ve enjoyed a few of your short film videos with the xt30! I also dig the hand strap on the camera, where is it from? 💛
Hey there! Thank you very much we appreciate the kind words, glad you're enjoying the content my friend :) Oh cheers yeah I love the wrist strap too, it's so nice not always having a strap around the neck. We got it on amazon, here is the link if you want to take a look (it's an affiliate link btw, just to be transparent haha) amzn.to/3qfxv5l
I don't what I'm doing wrong, but with video if I choose f-log recording (ON) the film simulation doesn't seem to apply to my footage on the LCD/EVF. It works with photo though (JPG+RAW). Anybody has a solution? (using a X-T30II here)
Quick question i play violin and have a Fujifilm camera and record my progress any recommendations for a cheap shotgun mic which i can use for sound. Great video as always.
Hey Hassan. To be totally honest we don't have a shotgun mic we just use our little Rode video micro for the sit down parts as you can see in this video. You can get them at a pretty decent price though, like the Audio Technica or Rode shotgun mics but we haven't used them so I couldn't say how good they are. Sorry
Hey :) So glad it was helpful. Oh nice one. We haven't got the chance to try out many of the Fuji lenses yet but that sound like a great choice. Love the 55mm focal length and F1.2 is gonna be great for portraits and low light.
I've just started out using my Fujifilm Xt4 and filmed all my footage using film simulations. When I've uploaded my footage to Davinci Resolve18, I noticed some don't look perfect. Should I use LUTs to fix them (which when I tried applying them to the footage they were way too strong), or do I manually play around with the colour grading dials? Thanks!
Hey! It really depends which film simulation you use and what your in camera settings are. You can adjust shadows and highlights + Saturation in camera so the footage turns out more how you would like it. The white balance you pick is also going to make a big difference. Personally I make some adjustments to each clip when color grading in premiere pro just to make sure everything match nicely.
@@MacnTeensVisuals thanks so much! New to learning so normally in camera I just whacked on a film sim and played around with the iso/aperture but not much else. I'll start learning how to adjust the white balance and other bits in camera too. Thanks!
@@thelostivy No problem at all. Yeah you can adjust contrast if you think the film simulation makes things to contrasty and then for white balance we normally just choose day light or shade/cloudy depending on the time of day and weather. 👍
I'd join the Discord just to listen to that Irish accent. Incidentally, a few of us use a B&W sim now and then even if we're going to edit to color because it gives a clearer understanding of the values/tones in the image.
😂 I just hope you understand everything I am saying haha Cheers though, I'll take the compliment. Totally agree though it really does simplify things for figuring out compositions etc etc Good Idea 👍
@@MacnTeensVisuals Pretty sure I understand most of it. :) It's that extra vowel between the L and the M of "film" that is so fascinating. I wonder if it exists between other consonant+m words like "worm," "calm," etc. Keep up the great work!
@@spanishmackerel Haha Well that's good. Yeah we totally do add the extra vowel in there lol I think it's with certain words because with "calm" for example we don't do it lol It's probably pretty obvious to you but I never actually notice it myself haha Cheers though appreciate the support :)
For video I find it easy to make adjustments on eterna however it can be a little bit weird on skin tones sometimes especially when you’re color grading. Still depending on your lighting/color conditions though ;) nice tips man
Hey hey, yeah a lot of people do like Eterna for video & it certainly can get some nice results. It was a little tricky explaining this one haha I'm sure you know what I mean though lol Cheers for sharing though as always ✌
Thanks very much 😂 It's all good, I totally get it I would prefer not to hold it either but trying to sound proof a room and remove echo is very tricky and time consuming so this is the quick and easy fix haha

You're on to me 🤣

Another mint video mate. I'm currently trying the cinestill 800 recipe on my xt1.
Great video!

The RAW you get after shooting does include modifications from the film sim, however you can change which film sim is applied in Fujifilm X RAW Studio
Cool 😎 I just discovered your channel instant sub nice great tips and I will be using these for my Fujifilm cameras!!!!

I set up kodachrome 64 simulation two days ago and i loved it.
