- Hearing some strange noises from the Black hole which was created from destroying Meridia, here's a video of the Black Hole Ambience.

Lore theory : The illuminate are fish (squids!) people. Would this be why we are hearing whale-like noises from the anomaly?
Edit 1: Sounds heard normally from outside of the super-destroyer are muffled GREATLY, listen to orbitals from nearby super-destroyers at planets for example. So the sounds we can hear from the very distant anomaly is very strange.
Edit 2 : It is not illegal to talk about the Illuminate, your ship technician yaps about them being supposedly extinct and elaborates on Dark Fluid origins tied to the Illuminate. Democracy officer is 10 meters away and can talk to you from the TV room; he can definitely hear the technician talking about the Illuminate but doesn't take the technician to freedom camp.
Edit 3 : This is definitely NOT a black hole. It is far too large in size compared to the mass of the planet even if the mass of the other planets and the sun had been added it wouldn't match the size of the anomaly. It is also lacking an accretion disk that all black holes have. Which means that light is not being bent around it, but traveling through it to somewhere.... Is the purple glow the light we are seeing from the other side?
Edit 4 : From my experience fighting the Illuminate in Helldivers 1, they are always watching you and they are waiting to appear from thin air with teleporting units. Perhaps the more we stare into the void, the more the void is staring back. (Tip : Get familiar with reversed stratagem patterns.) They could be sneaking right past us and we might not know; 100 years has given both us and them time to develop new ways of war. The guerilla war like tactics of the Illuminate may be already in play under our noses.
Edit 5 : Objects are falling towards the anomaly and not slowing down from our perspective of relativity with how time should slow down around a black hole due to the cosmically intensifying gravity. Objects are definitely going somewhere else in the universe. Objects are falling into the anomaly as if they are falling towards a greater gravitational source on the other side... Such a gravitational source extending through what is inferred as a wormhole is unnerving. Likely a star or planet of immense proportions, I hope; a darker idea is the exit is in front of a super massive black hole. Take the evidence of where your super destroyer 'orbits' the anomaly, it is more than 6x the distance away from orbiting a planet and the ship STILL creaks and groans under the gravitational stress even with this 'stable' orbit. Perhaps the dark fluid we combined with the E-710 is not producing a gravitational pull but instead is attracting dark matter; a substance we cannot see but permeates the universe making up 30% of all universal mass. As it is attracted, it grows with gravitational pull; giving us the illusion of a black hole.
Edit 6 : How will the Illuminate know that we made this anomaly? We left so much of our infrastructure on Meridia when we collapsed it. Termicide towers, hellpods, countless left-behind guns, and much more. They merely just have to look at the floating debris entering their part of space to know that "humans and bugs are at it again". If this were a court case, we have so many fingerprints on the 'murder weapon' (in this context) that there wouldn't be a trial; just a verdict.
Edit 7 : When viewing the anomaly on the news report one can see lightning within the black of the anomaly. Light leaving a black hole from beyond the event horizon? Such an observation is not possible with a black hole. This points more to this being a wormhole than ever. What worries me is why the lightning is in effect. Perhaps the Illuminate are electrocuting the terminids we dumped on their planet? Perhaps a psychic space storm much like psychics of stellaris? The more I look into this, the more questions I have.

@@content4810 You are correct with them being Squids. One of the most important units of the Illuminate are squid humanoids. (Don't let them into your mind.) Given there's been 100 years passed; there might be more aquatic-like creatures in this galactic war, which is why I incorrectly/generally referred to them as 'fish'.
You gave this a lot of thought and have very solid points we all know the illuminate will come through this it’s like the rule of theatrics if a gun is presented in the first act it MUST go off in the second
When I visited it, it sounded like the screaming of the thousands, millions, billions, trillions even. I can’t describe it. All I know was that it was horrifying and beautiful at the same time.

maybe, because of the black holes relativity, its going back in time sporadically, and that was the day the terminids invaded the planet and the screams were the citizens.

Also to note. E-710 is what we use for fuel in FTL and all that. We just used an exotic matter, the Dark Fluid, to create a singularity and that singularity was likely fueled by 710.
To add to that, the event horizon is purple, the Dark Fluid is purple. I think....we created a gateway for the Illu-

those are false rumors, there is also another rumor spreading that the sounds of the black hole in morse code spell out "IT IS COMING ... FROM THE OTHERSIDE TO SEE" i have no idea if this rumor is true or not
Actually at 0:58 you can hear four notes from illuminate theme. They're true
I think 8x is as fast as you can get audio. It sounds like if you could get to 12x or 16x, there's a woman's voice saying something...
To speed it up past 2x you have to go into your developer tools and enter the Console command $('video').playbackRate=x where x is the multiplier.

Somehow I find this soothing, yet ominous and terrifying, feels like we're at edge of the galaxy witnessing indescriptible horrors

Meridia just turned more beautiful. It also ate up a bunch of the spores.
Since it's likely probable that this is how we'll be introduced to the Illuminate in HD2, there have been so many theories about what happens next. My favorite theory is that we created a wormhole instead of a black hole, and Meridia actually traveled through it into Illuminate-occupied space rather than getting destroyed. The illuminate are going to repurpose the supercolony into something severe and use it to aid them in their galactic invasion.
It reminds me of that one sound file that we got from a real black hole’s magnetic waves

I have done some research regarding the illuminate. Their technology was ahead of us in the first galactic war by miles ahead, imagine what they achieved now.

I like how the 3 enemies are of different “evolutions” as in how far they are in technology. Terminids are primitive and far less technologically advanced, the bots are something on par with us, maybe a little ahead, and the squids are the moar likely opponent if we were to ever explore the stars realistically, a far advanced civilization in every aspect. A primitive enemy, an enemy to match us, and a super advanced enemy that we could only barely defeat
The fact that some people still think that this a black hole is wild to me. We got the weapons FROM the Illuminate, the crew jokes about how the Illuminate are supposed to be smart, and the “black hole” created from Meridia is making alien sounds. It’s obviously a portal to introduce the Illuminate.

I could not have imagined a more appropriate time to say this. There is something deeply eldritch and horrifying about what we have done. I simply don’t dare to visit this black hole for fear of what it could do to my ship. Hearing all these voices, however, makes me want to visit it less.
Imagine if the Illuminate is not here to fight with us again, but warn about something far more dangerous.
I hope it’s like a limited event type portal so around Halloween or something we can go fight xenomorphs or something

The dark fluid used to destroy meridia was illuminate tech, so it makes perfect sense that the illuminates would come through the very black hole it was used to create. Not to mention the sounds you hear are actually super slowed down noises the illuminate make, and recent leaks revealed that the illuminate the 3rd enemy faction in the game would be coming this summer and after "2 more major orders" the first one was probably the termid supercolony and destroying meridia, so my guess would be we will get 1 more major order against the bots, and then the illuminate will make there grand entrance into the game through the wormhole

I know everyone else is already taking about it but there's no way it's not a gateway, it's supposed to be a black while yet we can orbit it without being pulled in hmm...
the illuminate appearing in the tyramid front wouldnt work unless they work together with the tyramids somehow, but i dont think that would work, i also dont think they would let us exterminate the tyramids before the illuminate come, or for them to do an exodus like the automatons
For now we can assume that we have opened a way for them to come back.
