The 1940th Series is a pretty straight forward Shooting Series and I love them for this. I like the realistic aesthetics and I think the latest Xbox360 title was very ok too.
definitely a big fan of Capcom's 194X series, I think I played a rom of this some years ago! Pretty fun shootemup! think I may need to revisit it here soon!

A few people have remarked that it was ported to the PSP, that might be your best bet if you're trying not to spend too much on this one.
This is a great game. Unfortunately expensive though. The PC engine has so many great shooters. I'd be curious to see your top ten pce shooters.

I disagree. I prefer 1943kai to the supergrafx version
