      Only one death by a wolf has been recorded in the past 100 years, while humans have nearly wiped them out of the country. People tend to demonize them throughout folktales and entertainment, but they’re really not all that much of a threat. They typically tend to steer clear of humans.

    • @allysonlippert
      @allysonlippert ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@doodlemunchkin2222 Exactly, bison kill way more people than wolves do. Predators are villainized when prey animals are actually more dangerous, because prey animals tend to be more defensive. Predators are a lot more cautious and weigh the benefits to the risks and usually don't attack humans.

      @Nevius
      It's stated in the clip that the original population was totally wiped out from the park. People really had (have) a visceral hatred against wolves in history.
      Be thankful that others preserved some so they *could* be reintroduced. I'm quite sure the pack don't care about which province, state or country they're in so long as they can live. I'm puzzled why you care about their alleged nationality when they're wild and the "our" concept is nonsensical to wildlife.

    • @puirYorick
      @puirYorick 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Camp Matthew You don't seem to know the difference between a species and just a local population. Over a huge time, speciation can and will happen but since you've shot and trapped all the "local" wolves in past decades, they don't exist anymore.
      Not to worry - the imports are the same species just different individual animals of course. "Invasive species" is like when people brought their housepets (then later imported camels) to the Australian landmass.

      @@ginaedwards2808Edwards the reintroduced wolves may be slightly larger but they are genetically the same animal. There really isnt much difference. They did come from quite farther north but they still hunted the same prey as the previous wolves did. They aren't much different. The reintroduced wolves came from Alberta and British Columbia.

    I feel that wolves shouldn't be hated, first off if it weren't for wolves we'd not have many dogs.. Man's best friend, and how many times have wolves helped and saved people? I get that some could be lies, but definitely not all.
    Wolves are beautiful creatures, they don't deserve anything that happened to them.. Wolves have only killed 2 people in 100 years there have only been 2 fatal attacks from a wolf, one of which was a HUNTER. So technically, he deserved it.
    I could go on and on..

    First and foremost they are not "Gray Wolves" there the much larger Artic Timber wolf. The males can weight up to 175lbs I killed one last fall that was 34" tall 7' long and weight 209lbs. He was bigger than me. The artic wolves have smaller ears than the gray wolf variety, and are much bigger.

      They are all subspecies of gray wolves and should be Label as one species because of wolves disperse to other places far off they have all bred with other subspecies of gray wolves through DNA sequences have shown that even with domestic dogs, that’s where the color black in wolves came from and the gray wolf that they are from is not the same gray wolf

      They... literally are though. Wolves have existed in that area longer than we (humans) have. A while back, some hunters decided to kill them off since they were "killing all the deer". However, once they saw the impact the deer population had on the area, they decided to reintroduce the wolves to restore balance to the ecosystem of said area.
      It's clear to me you simply don't care about the ecosystem and want it destroyed.
