    Ya had me at Falcom. I swear they could make a Paint Dry Simulator and it would have a more compelling story and characters than anything out of Western studios lately. Can't wait to play this game since I just finished up Trails into Reverie a few weeks ago.

      "What did you think of the paint drying simulator? Man, game companies have completely run out of ideas, huh?"
      "It was awesome! The world building, characters and story were incredible, and it was gripping from beginning to end."
      "But, it's a paint drying simulator, right?"
      "Yes, but it's a paint drying simulator made by Nihon Falcom."
      "Ah, my mistake."

    Loved this game. This was Falcom at their prime with Nayuta and the Crossbell games. Nayuta has a much better balance between story and gameplay than the other Trails games

    My semester ended and i can finally start playing last year's backlog! Gonna start with this one, genuinely looks like a fun game
    The bosses in particular look impressive for a game that once was on the PSP

    After playing trails to azure and trails to reverie back to back, I'm glad to have something that won't have me speaking to every npc twice 😅

    I was planning on playing this via psp emulator like a year ago but decided to hold off when it got officially announced, so excited to try it tomorrow

    Something about Falcom games just always keeps me coming back. Whether that's Xanadu, Ys, or especially Trails, I never get tired of exploring their worlds

    Equally excited to replay this game as I was to play Reverie for the first time. Such an amazing game that imo adds several pieces to the greater puzzle of Trails. I’d strongly recommend checking out NG+ as it adds a lot to the experience such as new Npcs, side quests and extra seasons for each continent. So glad to see this gem made available on modern systems!

    Good review. I played Nayuta last month and I really enjoyed my time with it. The story and characters were pretty good. As someone who's not a fan of the Trails series, Nayuta was a delight.

    Looking forward to playing this one. Was going to be playing it day 1, but I've been playing Suikoden 3 and haven't been able to play often enough to finish it off first.

    Nayuta is my second favorite Falcom game behind Azure. The story is intriguing, the art is colorful, the music is on point as usual, and the gameplay is smooth, but most importantly, the story completely wraps up by the end unlike other Falcom games. It doesn't do anything crazy, but it also doesn't have any obvious weakness. It's a complete package that left me very satisfied by the end. It does have a "true end" that went on for a while iirc so make sure not to miss that!

    I have the PS4 physical copy ordered and just have to wait for it to come out here. Really looking forward to my third Trails game for this year.

    I remember how bummed I was when this didn't get localized back in the PSP days. Needless to say, I'm excited to finally play it :D

    thanks for the review Tara. this may be a spinoff but i cant wait for it regardless. Falcom is just that good at their storytelling no matter what it is.

    Your reviews are a godsend! 😌
    I only played the Ys series, and this one reminds me of Ys Origins...
    One thing I didn't understand is if the new game plus is more difficult or if there are additional difficulty settings.

    • @JRPGJungle
      @JRPGJungle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've heard there will be additional difficulty settings (pretty sure you have to finish the after story to unlock it, so I haven't seen it for myself yet)
      I can imagine the higher difficulty/difficulties (don't know if there are one or two) will be quite challenging haha

    Is this game actually completely it’s own thing, not connected to the main Trails series plot? If so, I might really want to buy this.

    • @alanwattie6093
      @alanwattie6093 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It has its own self contained story and world. While there are connections to the greater Trails universe it’s not necessary to be familiar with the main series for this game.

    Maybe I’ll give this a go eventually? This game has my interest because I have never played the Trails games and with this one being a spin off I’m happy that I don’t have to play anything before it. But yeah 22 hours for the game? Quite short. But that’s not a bad thing really. Hellfire RPGs didn’t care much for the story which also has me paused because story is a huge deal for me. Maybe I’ll get this in the bargain bin.

    What a coincidence, I was just about to binge some of your older videos. For context, to keep my subbox clean, I hide videos I don't wanna watch or have already watched from my subbox. So excluding like 3 videos that are hours long, the most recent videos in my subbox are like june 2022

    • @JRPGJungle

      What a nice and clean sounding sub box :’)
      I’m glad I put this up now then rather than waiting a few hours, hope you enjoy the video! ^__^
