Thank you, im definitely not a pro pine hunter, but I went from wandering around to finding buckets at the end of the adventure, just wanted to share what I had figured out in that time so people can have a bit more of a head start
Love your personality and quick talking about mushrooms! Everyone better keep up! Lol 😂 Been enjoying your videos since I came across your channel in the last month or so ❤
I have heard stores about people using rakes and messing it all up, and the next year, it's still good. I don't like the idea of that either way. Thank you :)
@@IslandUncharted yea in the long run amd as mushrooming becomes more popular the rakes will fuxj up the mycelium and the pines will disappear. Feel aroind and look hard for the shrumps is all you gotta do. You can feel the pines through the moss no need to tear it all up. If you can see or feel them then they aren't for you
Awesome and educational video as always Jon! Nice haul too. Great to see you have some adventure buddies out there, always more fun mushroom hunting with friends☺ Hahaha i know where potato mountain is lol.
Your awesome Dave, thank you! If you don't end up finding any. I would 100% take you to find some of your own near to home. I have also been donating them to friends and family. If you want some please let me know
@IslandUncharted I would love to find some 👍Ive been picking a few yrs on and off but found everything else but pines lol Ive looked lots high and low. But im thinking once you find the first ones, then you really get what your looking for!!
@IslandUncharted yes as I understand its for real . There is a map online that shows where the candysticks (allotropa virgata) have been found in BC. Find the map and put the candycane test to the test?! Lol
@@als1023 also known as scaberstalks. Anecdotally Some people will dry them and turn then into powder to use as flavoring but beware 1 out 3 people experience Gastro intestinal distress from consuming them.
Pretty awesome haul!
Thanks for the tips on how to find them😁 I'll keep trying to find one😃

BC doesn't have Tricholoma matsutake, you are picking Tricholoma murrillianum, otherwise, fun video, lucky to get such nice weather
I released that after your are 100% correct
Good video. Fun in the forest! Out of curiosity, what are the buyers paying per pound for a number one?$50?
SFA cant hardy get 10 bucks for a pounds of ones!
Mount arrowsmith is popular for pines. Should be pines where those candy stick are. Maybe yoir timijg was off
So it's actually a thing, like the candy stick flowers? I typically never go up there lol
