    Would like to see Fenix stay with replaceable batteries, but LR40R V2.0 is a very capable multipurpose light.

    Very comprehensive review and night shots.
    The V2 is a nice upgrade, pity about the battery pack, but not a deal breaker.
    The switch is a little gimmicky, I personally prefer multiple switches a lot less clicking.
    I hope it’s not a new trend for Fenix.

      I like multiple switches too. It got confusing during the testing...trying to remember how all these different lights work. The new Fenix dial functions differently than Olight's dial, which further complicated filming! Thanks for the sub!

      @emmettpetry5339 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      The battery pack almost killed it for me, but if it can take over 500 full charges like they say, it should last many years with my usage. The rotary switch doesn't bother me. It's like you have 3 lights in one. The dial is how you pick which light you want, if that makes sense.

    • @paultruesdale7680
      @paultruesdale7680 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Perfect sense, but if you look back a Fenix and a few others history, the multiple switches made them easier to operate.
      I just wish they would illuminate the around the switches so you can find them in the dark, without looking like some kind of cyborg having to wear a red headlamp on my head.
      Thanks for the reply. 👍

      @@paultruesdale7680 This is my first "big" light, so I really have no experience with the multiple switches. Even my Fenix TK35 has a selector wheel of sorts.

      Lol, I apologize EP for going off on a little rant.
      I guess it’s what you are used to, I have dials and rotary knobs, but personally I prefer individual switches.
      Fenix are a great brand and the battery packs last for years.
      My RC40 still has the original battery pack and it’s still going strong.
      Congratulations on your new purchase.

    Like the original 40R and current 50R, you can unscrew the tube, removed the battery pack and able to run the lights on one, two, three or four separate cells. Can the 40R V2 tube be unscrewed? I watched many 40R V2 videos and not one shows or attmepts to unscrew the tube. Mabye you can use individual cells in place of the battery pack. Since I have no answer, I just bought the original 40R instead. I’m not buying a sealed flashlight that will become a paperweight when the battery is done. I do own many Fenix lights.

    • @NotNormalBehavior
      @NotNormalBehavior  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bet we have the same version. The TK75 was one of the first "real bright" lights I bought. It was the early version that you could add up to 3 additional tube extensions onto, making it hold about 16 of the 18650 batteries. I bought it and the Nitecore tiny monster at about the same time. Unlike the Nitecore TM, I have never had a single issue with the TK75. Thanks for the comment!

  • @srhkaz

    Geat video. To me the LR50R beamshots seem brighter than those of LR40R V2 with a better spill. However, I read a comment by you in replies where you say the LR40R V2 is better than LR50R. Wanted to understand better from you on what makes you feel so? Asking this because I am very confused between which of these two I should get? I already have a nice flood light in the form of Imalent MS03W and a thrower in the form of Convoy L7. Look forward to your thoughts. Thank you!

    • @NotNormalBehavior
      @NotNormalBehavior  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      LR50R is a thrower with a good deal of spill, whereas the LR40R V2 is a combo light - So as far as distance, the LR50R has the throw advantage. The LR50R throws light 3117 ft BUT the LR40R V2 is very close and throws 2,953 ft - Here you have the LR50R on top - but the LR40R V2 is very close even in the throw category which is where the LR50R lives! The candela ratings are apx 196K for the LR40R vs apx 225K for the LR50R - very close! However, the LR40R really shines as a floodlight. The LR40R v2 dedicated 12000 Lumens to its Flood and 3000 Lumens to its throw. The flood light is incredible, and you still have the option of simultaneous use of the thrower. The spill of the LR50 cannot compare to the flood of the LR40R V2 for anything within 200 feet or so. However, the LR50 does have good useable spill, and if you are looking for a light that puts more throw AND some spill further away, then the LR50R is gonna be better in that specific use - throw-spill at a longer distance.

    • @NotElvisBruh
      @NotElvisBruh 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The LR40R V2 really stands out as a FLOOD light, creating a near daylight experience all around you. The 50 is a thrower with good spill...it has a decent wide swath of light that shines out for a good distance.
