    My 7.5x55 swiss cleaning kit has a rod that has built in brass bore protection at the end of every rod section. I love it.

    I always clean the bore from the muzzle for the last 50 years, never a problem if you know what are you doing

      Just be careful of the crown. You’ll be fine.

    Would love a video on this gun of disassembly and assembly of this rifle. Can't find any of the 94 with the safety. Need to take mine completely apart and clean.

    Thanks for sharing. QUESTION: I have been really hesitant about using CLP on my walnut gun stocks in fear it will harm them. I did go ahead and use it on my Winchester 9422 .22 MAG and the results were amazing. I heard you say at end you wiped down entire gun with silicone wipe "or CLP works" . To your knowledge, does CLP harm the wood stocks?

    • @FlyingKSports
      @FlyingKSports  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’d keep the CLP off the wood.

    Curiosity questions mostly - is there any difference in the procedure for a pre or post '64 rifle? Mine is a pre '64 (1958) and it hasn't been used for several years and needs a really good cleaning and lubing. Oh and while I generally use Hoppe's or Outer's, decided to try Lucas Gun Oil and go through all my collection. Any comment on that brand?

      You’re good with a Lucas oil product.

      I’ve used Lucas oil and extreme duty gun grease. Both are excellent

    Hello, can anyone tell me if the Winchester 94' was ever referred to as the" 30/30" ? I know the cartridge it fires is called the " 30/30" , Just wondering if the rifle itself was given that nick- name.

    • @FlyingKSports
      @FlyingKSports  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes, for years it was just referred to as the 30/30. Sometimes the 30/30 Winchester, or 30 Winchester.

      The .30/30 Win cartridge, and the Winchester mod 94 it was born in, was the first small bore, smokeless powder rifle available in the US. It is, of course, a .30 caliber, and the bottlenecked case has a capacity of 30 grains of water.

    Wrong
    Always clean from the chamber through the bore to the muzzle.
    It's a bit of a chore on these rifles, but you can do it with a bore snake or a full disassembly.

    • @FlyingKSports
      @FlyingKSports  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I would agree with you if this was a Marlin 336. A complete disassembly of a Winchester 94 is beyond the scope of most gun enthusiasts. Read the owner's manual from Winchester. I followed their instructions for this video.

    Pushing a rod down the bore pushing crap into the chamber.....are you serious? Just use a bore snake from the rear......

    • @FlyingKSports
      @FlyingKSports  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So it’s better to drag crap through the receiver?

    • @chadhaire1711

      @@FlyingKSports What are you talking about? A bore snake pulls dirt through the chamber and out the muzzle. Your procedure pushes dirt down the barrel and into the chamber/receiver! Plus bullets travel out the barrel pushing microscopic material forward making for a smoother surface over time....by shoving cleaning brushes down the barrel in the opposite direction you are destroying this over time. It is like sharpening a knife on a grinder away from the blade as should be done making it smoother over time, then later sharpening towards the blade grinding the metal and dulling the blade. You should always clean a bore towards the muzzle-----Where did you learn this nonsense?

    • @garybray3614
      @garybray3614 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hear of a chamber brush? I bet you dirty up the barrel with 3 to 5 shots before you sight in like expert bench shooters that takes care of what you say. They sell bullets that hone the barrel to increase accuracy and you say dragging micro stuff is wearing out the barrel. I hope my barrels are hardened so this does not happen. I don't want my rifling so sharp it cuts the jackets off the bullets. Don't make things harder than they already are. Rifles/cannons have been cleaned from the muzzle since they were invented. Where did you learn your nonsense? @@chadhaire1711

      @@amx3903 Yeah how horrible to have a bore snake that can clean a barrel in 10 seconds instead of wasting your time and life using dumb procedures like this stupid video......you and Biden will be happy in the old folks home with your prune juice sippy cups Goober.
