Props to you for making the LT1 your racecar. Been there done that, lots of lessons learned but tons of memories over the past 20 years with them. If memory serves me correct form the forum board days, Evans found the fix for GM on the LT1 steam port hot spot issue. Evans came up with the idea to put a restrictor on the two bolts that go in the back of the heads for the steam port. The restriction of the smaller holes caused it to eliminate the hot spot issue. Everyone else thought they needed to go with a bigger lines to fix but it didn't work. Evans and GM had a lawsuit and 15 years later GM ex-employee admitted but GM never paid up. Just a thought ,but probably too late now, -4 line would have been plenty. Electric water pump is an easy 10hp on the lt's and you can block off that extra opening in the timing cover, one less oil leak. What did your car run at drag week last year? I noticed the car while we were there, not too many LT's running around and the orange strips looked good on yours.

Lol my stock steam line pipes broke which is pretty normal and I just went to lowes and got 2 90 degree brass fittings and connected them and ran it to my res. Props for running the lt1 and not ls swapping it.

One thing i learnt when making lines is wrap tape where your going to cut on the hose that way it does fray
yeah for sure, and try and use something with a cutoff wheel

Hope your healing up good Kid. Pro tip🤣 wrap where you want to cut your braided hose with duct tape and cut through the tape, leaves super sexy ends🤭

Thats still less yawn than when my ex and I used to do all night engine swaps. Pushed the truck in at dusk, had an engine out of a donor car or yard ready to have necessary parts swapped. It drove out at sunrise (or before) with a running engine and after further recon to the auction within a couple days.
That was cool. Yo you where tired i get butter fingers too i have a rx7 pending project n 00 civic n and suv offroad im working on so yea 3 projects at once 😂😂. As a single truck driver it helps ALOT its alot of work too.

Question for you, what are you planning on running for fuel? If you going to run pump gas no issue but if you thinking on running on methanol, you might want to upgrade to a bigger vent tank. Great explanation on the process, getting so used to doing thing one handed you will be unstoppable when you get the other one back.
@@thomassabia5750 I was thinking the same thing but can't remember for sure. Everyone is turning to methanol nowadays so one never knows. It is a great fuel but hard on systems.

Just from experience and seeing it happen with friends your valve cover puke tank should really be mounted in the trunk and vented out behind the car because if for any reason the motor was to ever blow up and push oil out of the tank it pushes it out right in front of the tires and can cause you to spin out and crash which is no good But you have a beautiful Camaro and I look forward to seeing what you do with it
