I got to work with Bela Fleck and the Flecktones once back in the '90s, doing monitors. Excellent band, and the best seat in the world onstage! IT WAS A GREAT SHOW!! 😊
Language does not provide anything that comes even close to accurately describing the quality of this music, the level that they are playing on, the talent and creativity, the perfection in execution, the complexity, the emotions, the exchanges, the musical techniques and vocabulary, and the immeasurable impact that it has on listeners. I saw them in concert (this configuration) several times in a small venue and the experience is somewhere in the inexplicable realm of dreams and sex. When I left, I was mesmerized and it took a while to come back down to earth. Not sure if my spirit left my body during the show but that's kinda what it felt like. And you can multiply these feelings if you are a musician like me. World class, cream of the crop, best of the best, and virtuosos can barely describe these guys but that is as close as I can get.
Could well be Byron Blues and roots festival in 2007. Tent looks right, and it's called the MOJO tent; you can see the "MO" when the camera looks to the crowd. Was a great concert
The best band ever.
So happy this exists in the world. Brings me right back to college, circa 1999. Blew my mind back then, and still does now.
