    The most impressive thing was the fact that the machine sounded absolutely comfortable at that speed. That tool sounded good as well. The ears are just as important as feeling vibration for guides to improving speed. Too many people are afraid to push limits and leave money sitting on the table.

    I honestly think you folks are a significant part of the USA once again becoming THE center of excellence for manufacturing. It is impossible to understate how important that is to our country, our children and the world. MAD PROPS gentlemen!!!

    • @fabr5747
      @fabr5747 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Just one proof that the center of excellence of manufacturing isn't the US but is central Europe (Germany / Switzerland) is to look at who the partners are. Who is building those machines? The level of precision of those machines is incredible. They are mostly European. Quality production today = Europe, not USA

    • @AgryptNos
      @AgryptNos ปีที่แล้ว

      @@fabr5747 Germany, Switzerland and the rest of Europe will no longer exist in 30 years. The birth rate is far below replacement. All of the people who know how to build those high accuracy systems will retire and move to Spain and then the USA will be the only place left for companies to go for young, skilled workers.
      It's just demographics... It sucks but its true...

    • @AntiVaganza

      @@AgryptNos I was about not to reply as your opener reads like you're a tin hatter. But then again, I like facts and don't like them being misrepresented. So, here's a bit for you:
      Birth rate of the US is 1.64. Germany is 1.54. Does that mean America will not exist in 30, let's say 35, years then...?
      Also, the birthrate can drop a whole lot more in Germany - there'll still be enough youth who'll wanna work for a high end machine making company.

    • @AgryptNos
      @AgryptNos ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AntiVaganza some significant differences between Germany and the US... The USA has the 3rd highest population in the world and it's going up (~+0.5%) while Germany has less than 1/3 the base population and it's going down (~-0.09%).
      Germany also lacks the physical space and natural resources the USA has. Germany gets virtually all of their energy from foreign sources. Those imports are currently protected by the US Navy (you're welcome) but that situation is likely to change with the lack of military aged men in both countries and the fact that the USA is reshoring its manufacturing base due to the pending collapse of China and the self destruction of Russia... Being the worlds peace keeper and benefactor is unsustainable with the pending collapse of the US$$$ so Europe is going to be on their own...
      Get ready for renewed border wars like in Azerbaijan/Armenia to spread across Europe.
      It doesn't help that the EU has opened its borders up to masses of sub-Saharan African emigrants who refuse to assimilate and are already imposing their politics in many countries... France is a great example of emigration gone wrong...
      The USA has it's own emigration problems but we also have the 2nd Amendment so bad actors from foreign places will find out if they decide to F around.
      Angela Merkel and her SPD flunky who run the government have screwed their countrymen with shutting down powerplants and betting on wind/solar whilst letting everyone in to suck on the teat of government. Germany has no 2nd Amendment. German people are not citizens, they are subjects. And your government thinks you're a joke... In the USA, our government thinks the same but they are going to FAFO soon enough.
      We're all screwed but as the old saying goes... The USA will get a cold, the rest of the world will get a flu. No hard feelings against anyone in Europe... just facts.

    I'm thinking when you are taking about productivity, IPM isn't the correct measure but rather I³PM. That is what rate is the volume of materiel is being removed at. It would be really interesting to see a test where a whole list of cut depths were each pushed to the limit and then the time to remove a given volume of materiel plotted. At a guess, a lot of big fast modern machines would reach a peek on that below full rapid speeds.
    What would be even more useful (and expensive), would be to plot cut depth vs spindle speed vs max-IPM.

    I worked for a company for 30 years they bought Sharrman machines in the mid 90’s. We could run 8 to 10 parts on the smaller parts 2 or 3 of the larger parts in a 10 hour shift. They talk to Heller in 2016 and ask how many parts they could get in a 10 hour shift . Heller called after a while, 20 on the smaller parts 10 on the larger parts. Double on one part three time more on the other. The Sharrman was a 5 axis with an U head but it was able to do what some of did , nobody had the balls to try. I love watching your stuff.

Showing concept of tool path as well as how fast a part can be made. Also one more though , smaller dia tools vs bigger like 1in vs 1/2 for dynamic tool paths.

    • @occamssawzall3486
      @occamssawzall3486 ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s just a physics trick honestly. The tool won’t be able to exceed a certain MRR as at a certain point, the removal rate will require more force than the endmill can withstand. Really fast feedrate with light step overs will still be the same MRR of a slower feed rate with a greater step over.
      The only time high feed like this makes sense is if you have a high rev, low torque spindle with a high feee rate that doesn’t have the spindle power to drive the cutter tool to a higher MRR. IE, the spindle gives out before the endmill would.
      Be even then, you’re still down to a MRR limit by the spindle power output.

    As amazing as this video looks, this is just running the tool at about 3x the cutting speed. Feed is pretty low here, at 13k rev/min with 15 flute tool, its about 0.03mm/tooth. Thats actually quite low for roughing.
    It would be interesting to know what is the final mrr for this and how long did the endmill survive.

    What is the radial engagement on the tool? That's what I want to know. Yes 13K RPM is impressive and so is 2362 Ipm. I want to know radial and MRR. Thanks guys.

    It would be interesting to make something with one tool and find at what ipm point it doesn’t pass inspection.

    just for reference, its 776m/min with 0.308mm per teeth
    you gotta need a very small ap to not clog those 15 teeths

      @mehmettemel8725 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just short of 60m/min not 776 but the feed is correct.
