woah the writer or whoever who came up with the idea of that empty chair must have diving into the lake of sadness and touched the esense of life. for some reason, I had goosebumps when he sat in front of the chair and brought the chair anywhere he did something. I don't know I feel like I could translate the meaning inside my heart but it's also hard to explain. but maybe actually I have an honest interpretation that I don't want to share here. it could be personal. I think everyone may have different interpretation too, as the mv gives a room for us too understand it based on our own experience. what a meaningful music video.
For me, it's as if the empty chair is a symbol of a lost loved one/aspect of him and for some reason it's connected to the moon. He's waiting for a full moon (??) hence, the circles that are constantly shown. At the end when the full moon finally appeared, he goes at the rooftop with the chair in front of him hoping that the lost loved one will magically show itself when the moonlight shines on it. But when he realized that it will never happen, he burns it instead like all hope is gone. He accepts in himself that it's all just a delusion. This is just what I got from the gist of it and I'm not really the type who dissects an MV after watching it. But the symbolism here is so interesting I can't help to also share my interpretation.
