I love this! Being Australian, I don't speak Icelandic, so this is awesome for me, I do like the Icelandic version too :) Great song in both languages :D
I agree that the Icelandic version sounds better, but it might just be because I'm used to it. What you have to understand is that, if you're trying to get popular, English is simply a better language to sing in. It's more marketable, more people are inclined to listen, and so on. That's probably why they did it.
