Thanks for this, we serviced my sewing machine before moving and due to life it started in the garage door for 2 years before I was able to pull it back out. Needless to say the button disk is stuck on 1 and my husband was convinced he could fix it... With me pacing around crying about how the machine is only a year older than me and it means the world to me. LOL I showed him this video and he decided to make an appointment to have it serviced again.
Well, let the husband try, let him be a bit of a sewing machine repairman, maybe he is a hidden talent 😃 it should not be a particular problem. th-cam.com/video/v35DGPbQOLg/w-d-xo.html
New subscriber, thank you very much for helping us keep our keep our vintage bernina alive. Need some help with my stuck feed dog and a noise in my bobbin winder. Thanks for your help. Much blessings
Noise on the bobbin winder, open the top cover of your sewing machine, on the right side you will see the bobbin winder, a black wheel, the noise usually occurs because that black part becomes hard like plastic, it needs to be replaced, very often that wheel causes damage to the handwheel to the place of contact. Stuck feed dog, what do you mean "stuck" can't you turn it on and off or is it permanently off?? If the button with on/off stuck, try the following, remove the cover with your on "free hand", take a hair dryer and solidly heat the area around the on/off button. feed dog, if you manage to move the button after heating, then you will see where lubrication is necessary... if the situation remains the same, then the base of the machine must be removed, which is a bit more complicated work... Love your videos have been so helpful in trying to trouble shoot problems with my 810,830 and 930 Bernina's. Currently I am working on an 830 specifically the buttonhole function. I set the stitch length knob because it was stuck, finally got it to work but the knob needed to be adjusted because it wasn't matching up to the zero mark correctly (adjusted with the side pane hex nut). Then turned the stitch length knob a half a turn down to start my buttonhole. When I get to the 3rd step it will not go backwards for the 2nd bead stitch. I tried adjusting the hex nut several times but either the stitches that are too close together or it won't go in reverse for the 2nd bead. Any suggestions?
This is a check, turn on position 3 for making holes, increase the stitch length, if the machine still does not go back, the error is somewhere in the mechanism for making holes.! You may have removed the entire hole punch panel but not properly put it back in place. th-cam.com/video/v35DGPbQOLg/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for this. It's very helpful! I hope you can help me - my stitch length lever and dial is stuck on 0. The button hole dial was stuck on 2 but I freed that with some heat and oil (along with the needle position dial). But the stitch length lever will only move a tiny bit even after oiling and heat. Ideas? Thank you!
The action of heat can be useful, elevated temperatures dissolve old fat deposits. Your sewing machine deserves one detailed lubrication, the stitch length regulator must be completely disassembled, thoroughly cleaned and lubricated.
I have this model and cannot get the decorative stitches to engage. I took it to the repair man and he couldn't figure it out either! Everything looks to be working just fine. The straight stitch and zigzag work but nothing else! Does anyone have any insight?
@@MasinskiKutak That remark is a bit unfair. This man has crafted parts himself to fix Berninas others have written off. He does not specialize in Berninas, but I always take my machines to him first. I had hoped for some insight. I very much enjoy your videos and hope to see more.

This is a purely mechanical problem, change the master, the one he reviewed is not up to the task, I can also say that he is a very weak repair man.!

No, it's not a dishonest remark, for a real master it's a routine job.
Be still with us, best regards 🙂
A friend has given me a 1973 Bernina 830 and the dials are jammed (won't turn) should I remove them as in this video? Thank you.

Thank you, Nice music. You act like sewing machine weighs nothing!! It is incredibly heavy!
Maybe my arms are a little bit stronger than yours :D
the truth is that the Bernina 830 is somewhat weight than the average house sewing machine.
