PLANESPOTTING FROM LONDON HEATHROW AIRPORT - RW09R Departures - Myrtle Avenue - 21st May 2023 - 4K

3x A380’s… a VERY shaky United Airlines Boeing 777-200 takeoff… and a JAW-DROPPING Air India Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner takeoff towards the end… I thought it was going to overrun the runway or clip the tree! I also caught the Icelandair Boeing 757-300 with the amazing 100 Years of Independence Livery (as per the video thumbnail), probably my favourite catch of the day. I absolutely love the sound of those RB211 engines.

Loads of great takeoffs good to see a lot of the older jets 4:53 That 777-200ER was quite high but had a great engine sound to it

The air india 787-8 was departing low because they were trying to have a low pitch for higher speed. Flaps 15 gives are the proper take off flaps for the 787s. It gives the 787s just enough lift to take off however it also causes alot of drag. The pilots were trying to use low thrust so they did a lower take off so they wouldn't have as much drag from a higher pitch.

They actually cut in and took an earlier entry to the runway rather than use the full runway… it’s the first time I’d seen a B787 Dreamliner not use the full runway👍🏼
