Some people in comment section think it's just a normal mud structure that can not tolerate water. I wanted to tell them that this is not any ordinary mud structure it's called compressed earth or rammed earth structure which is very stable and water tolerant. It's not gonna fall in rainy season. There are some 1000 year old structures made from compressed earth. I bet you all have heard about the great wall of china. That's made of rammed earth.

At my hometown, we are having 130 y old complet mud house ,build by my great grandfather. My mom stays alone thr now...and usually we visit thr. Many of my relatives ask , why you don't break this house and build nice Bunglow. But they won't understand , how pride we feel in such old house. Still we cook on wood fire. No concrete or tiles at floor only we spray cow dung. Many of neighbors build concrete house and in summer they fe like they are in ovan. And we don't use fan also .

In this global warming scenario, mud is the only way to go. A cement roof radiates the heat downwards all night long even despite having an ac...so you have a sleepless night. A natural tiled roof with metal or wood rafters, some zinc sheets and a final layer of reefers and mud tiles are the best roofing for good healthy and safe living.

I see many comments about flood and climate withstanding of these mud houses, Rammed earth with use of Bamboo stick is a great solution which can even with stand earthquakes, in summer its 10-15 degree colder inside and in winter its 10-15 degree warmer then outside.

This is nothing new neither something extraordinary great, just few Rich people came together to tell others how to cool we are. What about child education, rainy season trauma, tunkur side climate is so hot. Similar kind of concept is there everywhere like auroville. Unless and untill indian govt taking initiative to save our eco standard living no one can save it. Views are personal. Thanks
