  • In this episode, we dive into our Bruny Island experience and explore whether it was worth the cost! We indulge in oysters at Get Shucked 🦪 taste sourdough bread 🍞, and chocolates 🍫, we didn’t hold back. But with every incredible moment came a hefty price tag! 😱
    We also went on the Fluted Cape Walk 🥾, one of the most stunning (and challenging) walks on Bruny Island.
    Was it all value for money? Or did we bite off more than we bargained for? Join us as we uncover the truth about Bruny Island’s costs and whether it lives up to the hype!

    Hi Sandy and Tim, I agree with Tim , Oysters are gross. I was asked to try many years ago and never again, I love Scallops. Tasmania is beautiful and has so much to offer, I think it's the best place in Australia. Never spend on alcohol as I do not drink the stuff, thankfully I have never had the desire nor missed that horrid experience.

    I think we paid $150 for a bottle of port in the Barossa Valley. But it was for a special occasion. Wine would be $120 to drink on my 60th. But that’s my limit!!

      Thank you 🙏😊🚐Australia does have rather expensive alcohol compared to the rest of the world 🤦‍♂️

    Never tried an oyster and I must admit just swallowing them I can understand how they are enjoyable
    I’d be gagging lol 😂😂😂😂

    I’m not much of a whiskey drinker, but I’ve tried a couple of Tassie ones. For me they’re not worth the price. There’s a bottle of Sullivan’s Cove on sale at my local Dan Murphy’s for $16,500 too. Yes, sixteen thousand five hundred oz dollars! It’s been there I believe since the store opened…
    If you ask me, the wines produced here are way better and usually reasonably priced. Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir in particular. Around $20 will get you a nice one.
    I’m with Tim as far as oysters go! Put Tassie scallops in front of me and I’ll devour them, but something just seems wrong about oysters…

      Thank you 🙏🚐😊yep the tax in Australia for alcohol is over the top , when we were in Japan whiskey was $10 a litre 🤦‍♂️that’s one super expensive bottle of drink 😳

    thanks guys, I'm with you Tim on natural oysters, yuk, but I do like oysters Kilpatrick, you should try them, be daring and adventurous on Adventure Bay. The chocolate shop looks amazing! $450 for a bottle of Whiskey is way overpriced, lucky I don't drink it, Give me a bottle of Baileys any day. Cheers

    We are travelling to Tassie in March, hiring a campervan, and Bruny Island is on our itinerary.
    I am particularly interested in bird photography and we are both into art. How does Bruny stack up for those interests?

    • @SandVan

    I'm like Tim. Not going to eat them. I did go through stage of liking scallops as child, but once I got a bad one, it was game over. I hope Tim survive the bedroom that night... On alcohol, i cry when seeing priced in Russia, Spain, etc. We are taxed to near death.

    • @SandVan
      @SandVan  19 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      There are a couple of free camps on Bruny , but people also camp at adventure bay in the beach carpark as they don’t have any camping prohibited signs, we stealth camped on the street there as the whole island shuts down after the last ferry at 18:20 and becomes very quiet🚐😊🤫
