KotD, you guys absolutely have the best production crew in the rap battle circuit (cameramen, sound guys, video editors, etc); in this battle it seemed like there was some experimental shit going on with both the filming and editing. The result was very cinematic, almost 8 Mile-era angles, tight shots and color filters. You guys should really let your crew get more creative more often and see what happens, because I feel like it made this more engaging and raw to watch. Great shit.
@NCSM_official Battle leagues in Russia and Philippines etc have higher view counts because the populations there have less overall content and events to go to. US/Canada are oversaturated with content and the underground hip hop scene only has so much participation. However, even people like oxxymiron admit that those battle leagues were created out of a love for US battling. View count is one thing but battle rap history and lineage is another. ONE championship gets more views than the UFC but the UFC is still more "official" in terms of name recognition. Same thing.

I declare this as the peak of battle rap. There will never be a battle greater than this one. Crazy bars and crazy deliveries. Written and freestyle rebuttals were just crazy!!! Disses are clear, not overly complicated like they are today. I remember this was the second battle rap I watched from the acapella era and I enjoyed it at the time being a newcomer. If rap stayed this way, it would've gotten mainstream I think. Today, most writtens fall flat cause you have to pay too much attention and really read into it to appreciate it.

I disagree that he won man but that's just my perception. I see things a lot differently than most other viewers. I understand the importance of momentum and punchlines and shit but to me lyrically Diz was on another planet than DNA, not even human. What Diz does very few people can do but given the time and patience a lot of people can write what DNA wrote in this battle. I just found Dizzes overall performance a lot more entertaining cuz you never knew where it was going to end up and for me he won it because of that.

He adopts being from Persia in the rebuttal. In the movie Prince Of Persia: Sands of Time, there's a situation where some girl sacrifices herself and becomes trapped in a sand glass. Later on, a development happens where a dagger is used to rewind time and travel thru time. There may be additional time references from the video game or other movies/shows around the story also. Basically, in the prince of Persia story, whoever holds the dagger has special abilities. The dagger holder being able to control time, is a premise of the story. The Prince of Persia is able to control time. After revisiting this I realize that DNA actually did better then I originally thought. once you get past Diz shock value and how he puts words together sometimes you realize what he’s saying isn’t really much . DNA has that substance

Truth is the scene has been oversaturated for years now. Too much battles out there. Not like 10 years ago when an event happened and we had to wait for six weeks for Smack to drop 1 battle. I have stopped actively following battle rap for this reason about 4 years ago. Now I watch a battle 3-4 times a year and not because I know they have taken place, but because TH-cam recommends them to me lol.

I disagree that he won man but that's just my perception. I see things a lot differently than most other viewers. I understand the importance of momentum and punchlines and shit but to me lyrically Diz was on another planet than DNA, not even human. What Diz does very few people can do but given the time and patience a lot of people can write what DNA wrote in this battle. I just found Dizzes overall performance a lot more entertaining cuz you never knew where it was going to end up and for me he won it because of that.

Dizaster is often called Arab, Iranian, Turkish, Persian, etc etc because of his middle eastern heritage. He is from Lebanon but he tends to roll with the Arabic jokes and middle eastern jokes. He adopts being from Persia in the rebuttal.
In the movie Prince Of Persia: Sands of Time, there's a situation where some girl sacrifices herself and becomes trapped in a sand glass. Later on, a development happens where a dagger is used to rewind time and travel thru time.
There may be additional time references from the video game or other movies/shows around the story also.
Basically, in the prince of Persia story, whoever holds the dagger has special abilities. The dagger holder being able to control time, is a premise of the story. The Prince of Persia is able to control time.
