During the Snake Oil skin care she bragged about doing jobs she didn’t actually believe in just to get money. The fact is she wants to coast through life doing a minimal amount of labor with the maximum amount of money and attention.

      It seems like she separates herself from this “character” she claims to have taken on for the sake of her non-existent first book. It’s just another way not to take full accountability. She was trying to curate a persona but fails to realize once you start living that persona non-stop and enact actual harm on people, that’s not a character you made up. That’s a real person and the real person you were (and are-she just hasn’t gotten far enough to recognize that yet lol).

      Caroline is just SO self-obsessed and delusional that the reality of Natalie being a seriously regarded and *professionally* published author has driven her (even more) insane. She has spent so long equating being "someone who lived a life worth writing about" with being an actual talented and accomplished writer, that someone as "mundane" as Natalie having legitimate success while she's, at best, a self-published freakshow, seriously broke her brain.

      Natalie did the one thing the NYU professor told Caroline to do, the one thing Caroline has all along, for some reason, made every excuse not to do: write. With no family fortune, no celebrity/influencer status, no real life Gossip Girl train wreck of a life story, and no Cambridge fairytale degree, Natalie simply wrote a book and sold it.
      (I know Caroline technically sold hers but self-publishing doesn't count when a decent number of the buyers don't ever even recieve the book.)

      And it's not like I'm bad at school or anything. I got 5's on every AP Exam I took (which was many) and high ACT score. I just didn't have the motivation or skill to maintain a 3.5+ GPA. Not like it matters, I wanted to pursue animation out of all things and got into a really decent and selective school for it in the end.
      Irregardless, be proud of your hard work because you deserve it! They accepted you out of the tens of thousands of applicants because you had merits they didn't. You made the cut because of your own skills, hard-work and commitment to the school. That's metal af!
      People will always be better, sure, but that is inevitable. If anything, you should befriend the people you compare yourself to and steal all their knowledge for yourself (unlike Caroline Calloway who just steals people's money lol) . That's what college is all about anyway. To learn and vanquish your mortal enemies. The only things that matter is that you got accepted for a reason, and that you graduate. That's it.
      At my school, we don't say "your art is good" or "wow, you drew that so much better than I did." We say: "I want to eat that." You know why? It means we want to consume whatever skills that artists has and share our own like sharing a meal.

    It’s so weird to hear someone talk about being a student in a foreign country and complaining about $36,000 a year tuition when I’m going to a state funded school as an instate resident for $30,000 a year
    Furthermore, to hear someone complain about issues like poverty, the patriarchy, etc. when- they do have the right to complain, but- they are actively taking advantage of those systems and other people for their own gain and making choices which empower others to take advantage of THEM is mind boggling. Sidebar: Does anyone know if she's been diagnosed with ADD or ADHD? I'm 1 hour and 10 minutes into this video and her life sounds surprisingly like mine. Sounds like she suffers from SEVERE ADHD, like I do. Maladaptive daydreaming, being handed multiple once-in-a-lifetime opportunities and letting them slip through fingers not because your work was bad, but rather because you did not even being the work. When Natalie said, "Caroline counted down the days until she missed her book deadline" that shook me because... that has happened to me all throughout highschool, my young adult life, my middle aged life...... and it's been extremely embarrassing and damaging to people around me BUT... it's like a paralytic thing. I'll sit there PARALYZED and be stressed about the deadline and do nothing about it. I'll nap stressfully, stare at the wall stressfully, watch TV whilst not paying attention due to stress, and I will literally watch the hours of the day, and the days until the deadline count down. Without me even STARTING the project. These are projects that I was passionate about, and had amazing ideas for. And I had the skills to blow expectations out of the water. BUT.... I was always paralyzed. They say it's linked to a Perfectionist problem. I don't know how, but that's what I read. In highschool, I would even help my friends write their papers if they seemed overwhelmed, but I wouldn't write my own. When I was 32, I learned that I have BED (binge-eating disorder) I started taking Vyvanse, prescribed by a physician who has an eating-disorder practice. BOY did I become productive. The medicine worked... a little too well. I was on the lowest possible dose of Vyvanse (30 mg) and I was straight up "limitlessing" like Bradley Cooper. I was suspicious of how my life changed in literally 1 month. I became a new person. I continued researching my disorder (BED) and my medicine (Vyvanse). Turns out, Vyvanse is also a medication for ADHD. I researched ADHD... facepalmed myself... because everything I was reading about ADHD was every single terrible trait I had. I spoke with my eating disorder doctor. She was agreed I probably had ADHD, and she WAS qualified to diagnose a Patient with ADHD but she said she'd rather have a psychiatrist formally assess and diagnose me. I did that. Was formally diagnosed with severe ADHD in my 30's. And dude..... I'm not perfect.... but I'm 1000x more productive than I ever was before. I get shit done. People rely on me. I WANT to clean my house. I WANT to finish projects. I WANT to work on my businesses and make money AND FOLLOW-THROUGH for my customers. ------ I know Caroline's got other gross stuff in her life, like the cat thing, and obsession with her ex-bff Natalie.......... but everything in regards to her being a flake, an eternal planner and never-doer, talking and over-explain as much as she does, did I mention being a flake?, hopping from 1 side-hustle to the next, and constantly apologizing for broken promises, losing fantastical career opportunities handed to her on a silver platter, being CRAZY irresponsible with money, stressfully watching the clock run tick away until it hits the deadline instead of WORKING................................................................

    • @Lee-fw9mr
      @Lee-fw9mr 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +21

      I just googled it. She was "recreationally" taking Adderral (an ADHD medicine) which is one of the worst ones you can take because you can get 'high' off of them. You can take more than you're supposed to and "limitless" even harder. You can't do that with Vyvanse. Adderral is a "fast-acting" ADHD medication so you limitless hardcore for a couple of hours. And eventually it even stops working on you, so you have to take more and more. And when you stop, the crash (psychologically, physically) is apparently like coming off hard drugs. It's really bad for you. But Vyvanse is a SLOW-acting ADHD medication, that makes you limitless calmly for 12-14 hours. And you can't get high on Vyvanse because you can't like.. snort it. Or whatever. Vyvanse doesn't go straight into the blood-stream. It gets digested by some enzyme in your intestines and then gets slowly absorbed into your blood from there. You feel the medicine kick-in after 1 hour, but not a RUSH. It's just... suddenly you have motivation. For 14 hours. That's it. So even if Caroline HAS undiagnosed ADHD and she accidentally was treating it with illegally with Adderrall that wasn't prescribed to her.... then she's still basically got untreated ADHD. She needs to be formally assessed by a Psychiatrist or PhD Psychologist and needs to try a slow-acting ADHD med. Not fast-acting. I have no idea who fast-acting Adderral is for because that medicine leaves nothing but dumpster-fires and broken brains in it's wake. People legit get diagnosed with depression for the first time in their life DUE TO STOPPING Aderral. Jesus Christ. Stay away from Adderal, people.

Here comes the illogical one who says a bunch of stuff without actually saying anything at all. ------ @Infern0z2 Are you saying it's inappropriate for me to speak on how her life is eerily similar to mine? Are you saying it's inappropriate for me to share my experience with the internet and share how many aspects of her history align so closely to mine? Is Generation Z (or your) the arbiter of when it's appropriate to give an opinion on a youtube channel comment section, and when it IS inappropriate? Is it your job to police people's free speech? So many commenters here are commenting PRECISELY on Caroline's psychology, freely DIAGNOSING her, and branding her a narcissist, a psychopath, a sociopath. Yes, those are psychological diagnoses. But when I comment on her psychology in a constructive way, rather than a hateful/mean way.... you tell me not to? Are you normally this illogical and hypocritical or is today just a special day? Who exactly are you to gate keep my experience? Who are you police the comment section at all. I'm doing less harm than 99% of the other commenters here, but instead of preaching to them, you preach to me about inappropriate. Tell you what, when you reply to every single hateful comment here which freely diagnosis Caroline with severe psychological disorders..... then you'll have a leg to stand on. Until then, you're just a giant and unfair hypocrite 🤷‍♀ I don't take the advice of hypocrites.

      Went into the comments to see if someone pointed this out. It's either "making" or "producing" a book, never writing it. Not to mention it seems like she only talks about writing and almost never actually does it. And i just love the fact that Natalie just went and published a thought out book and this weirdo college friend of hers still claims that everything is about her. Yes, of course Caroline, this person you claim to have spent around six months of your life with years ago is secretly obsessed with you.
      Caroline did surprise me though, i 100% was prepared to hear that the book "scammer" will never be published and is in itself a one big scam. Though if it weren't for Natalie's book, it would probably be the case.

    It’s giving Mean Girls. It’s obvious Caroline is delusional and feels extremely jealous of Natalie. Caroline is so obsessed with appearances, living a fascinating life, throwing parties, wearing expensive ballgowns; essentially doing everything she can to make sure her appearance matches her delusion.
    And yet she feels jealousy & spite for Natalie, because she knows that no amount of money, looks, manipulation or lies will erase the truth: Natalie is a better writer than she will ever be.

It was such an intimate and realistic glimpse into the kind of friendship we all have experienced at some point with a friend you love but so does everybody else and you’re not as important to them. She also was very graceful in her writing and humanised Caroline way more than she deserved. CC should be thanking Natalie on her knees because Nat made her sound so much in depth and interesting than she actually is.
      Also Nat is a better writer because she isn’t a narcissist and actually has the ability to look beyond herself and at other people long enough to understand them which reflects in her writing. CC lives in a bubble so obviously her writing will never resonate with anyone else because it’s for herself only.

      I had the exact same thought! She's definitely giving some sort of narcisism or even a type of PD. Those do tend to go hand in hand tbh.

      Yeah. Textbook, honestly. The section at the very end about how much deep resentment she holds toward her ex-friend reminds me SO much of my own narc ex-friend. It was never this extreme, and I haven't spoken to that person in 5+ years, but honestly... A sadistic part of me hopes she still holds this much resentment towards me 😂 Caroline doesn't realize that she only makes her ex-friend look better and better in comparison, the more she talks smack

      don't worry people are prolly going to buy Nathalie's book now and give reviews that will make its rating higher and the fact that Caroline's book is rated higher is probably due to two things : since she's an influencer a lot of young people bought her book and rated it high because they like her and don't actually read a lot, they just got it because she's their fav influencer so they don't care about the writing anyway & considering her past history there's a high chance that she paid for fake reviews or made fake accounts to boost her rating (also maybe in order to make sure that it would be rated higher than Nathalie's considering she wrote it only because of anger towards her she probably wouldn't be able to bear her book being rated lower than hers and because she thinks she's a literary genius too so she probably think she deserves to cheat in order to make her book seem better than it is just like she thought for everything else.)

  • @TheatreCreature
    @TheatreCreature 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +976

    Honestly? I almost believe that professor laughed at her and said "all you had to do was write", because that's Caroline's biggest problem. It's not imagination, it's not drive, it's not marketing, it's the actual act of WRITING. How many people do we know that call themselves artists, writers, actors, dancers, ect. but never do the craft itself? That want to be SEEN as creators, not *be* creators. Natalie wrote a book; Caroline never has. Until she can finish a book, she can never be a better writer than Natalie because she isn't one.

      It could have easily been what he said and how she heard it. I dropped an English class once in the middle of an essay. I told the teacher I had no idea what I was doing. She said, "You probably know more than that half the people in here, you are writing something." She didn't say you're a brilliant writer and know more than half the class but I could have chosen to hear that. She just thought I might pass. Stupid me dropped the class. I will still always want to write that book, darn it.

      There was a 2nd cat when she lived in NYC that she gave away.
      Poor Matisse has had to live in absolute filth. At one point I believe she had kitty litter in paper plates and she'd often post photos from her NYC hovel that included cat poop. I'm also not sure if Matisse has ever been to a vet and she's been known to carry him around in a tote bag.
