Tsunami Barrier It’s a completely new character designer/artist who has never worked on Atelier before, BUT I do agree with you that it looks much better! Something about the Mysterious trilogy looked cheap and unfinished to me. Their eyes looked too shiny and weird. This graphical style is perfect for Gust.
@Tsunami Barrier Yeah the new character designer is by Toridamono, he has a pretty good portfolio of absolutely visually pleasing art work over in his PIXIV account. The mysterious trilogy designs were pretty good, as for ryza this looks equally good imo.
lulua is was another team , it's not a real atelier team , i mean it's not canonical game , they use a reduced team i think , with less budget than trilogy game
but i think ryza is less colored and kawai than lydie or sophie , caracter design is more like a mmo style , than a old atelier , ( many brown and autumnal color in choice of color design ) lydie ,sophie , was more pink , blue , yellow , purple colored game ,, i don't like to much this new design
Yes, it’s perfectly fine. This is essentially a new set of trilogy going to be made. Atelier games tend to have a sub-sequent trilogy. Examples Atelier Rorora, Atelier Totori, Atelier Meruru are interconnected with each other under the Arland Trilogy label. With the latest Arland entry being Atelier Lulua which is the 4th entry. Atelier Sophie, Atelier firis, Atelier Lydie & suelle are under the most recent sub-sequent trilogy, the mysterious trilogy. So basically like I said before this is a possibly a new sub-sequent trilogy that will be made starring first with Atelier Ryza.
Honestly, last time i gave a damn about atelier story was back at mana khemia before focus on cuteness took over. I hope this one at least try to tell a compelling story.
Still debating on whether to buy the ps4 or the switch version. If Sony put their censorship policy onto this game, I won’t hesitate to go the switch, despite not having the system.
ps4 will have maybe just censor on cover , like lulua they censored her leg on the cover box in europe version , buy switch version maybe better bcuz no censor from sony
all of the atelier games that I’m aware of has never been censored, why should they...the games are practically rated T with very little over the top fan-service to begin with. But anyways, If you did have a switch, it would be the best choice because of the added bonus of portable play
Great to hear, enjoy all the Japanese quality games that we all enjoy. I can’t wait to see what other Vita ports come to switch in the future. I myself have been enjoying a lot of the niche fan service games that were prevalent in the vita that have shown up on switch. Looking forward to more JRPG’s as well, hoping to see like neptunia rebirth games to come. And games like danganronpa even if I already have those games on PC, I’d be down to playing them on switch.
i don't like dogaronpa game ^^ i never play is it's seem no fun to my style , but neptunia is fun bcuz it's so kawai (nepuuuu ) and not to much difficult , and now i try to discover seran kagura game franchise ( i bought 2 day ago the beach version ) , i never play it before , but is not really rpg , but i like atelier more bcuz their character are so cute and game are fun . but i don't like sony when they censor all their game after 2018 , so now i play a bit more on switch , but i don't like digital only policy ,, so many game i can't play bcuz only digital = no buy for me ,, like the DX version of atelier alrand
The game looks great visually...however the biggest issue for me is the story. I haven't really followed the game that much but the Atelier series has been offputting to me ever since post Mana Khemia/Atelier Iris when the games had actual human villains to fight and a far more focuses plot. Haven't played the Rorona games but from Ayesha onwards the games have strayed too far away from a strong main plot with an obvious opposing force and towards just daily activities/directionless wandering that the series has been very off putting for me for a while now...haven't even bought the last 2 to 3 games cause of this. If this game goes a bit back towards a more Altelier Iris (mainly Iris 2) type of plot I'll likely get it but if it's like the past few games i'll likely pass on this game too...well at least until a sharp discount when i've not much in my backlog (which is bloated to hell right now).

フォトリアルと違ってアニメ調のグラって手間かかる上に作れる人があんまりいないからコエテクとガストの技術が近いうちに世界トップレベルになりそう。
なんかテイルズも新作のクオリティがえげつないほど上がってるし、ペルソナも絶好調だし古参のゲームが勢いあるね。
フライトユニットが最後に関わったソフィーのアトリエも3Dモデルのクオリティが限界突破してたような

normaly i play all atelier on psvita ( vita game or remote play ps4 ) , but now i will play on switch only
