    I use my DIY version of this kinda like a channel switcher, and sometimes like a full on blown out bassy fuzz into my SV20. Just gorgeous what it does into a jumped 1959 circuit.

    Hey Leon. I absolutely love your stuff-keep up the great reviews and awesome music. Above all else, you deserve an award for having the best stank-face ever in TH-cam music. I enjoy your vids just as much with the volume turned down. :) You'd have to be the hardest working musician on TH-cam, with a new vid every time I turn around. Unlike some others, the regular content is consistently well produced, interesting and rocks hard! Keep up the great work mate. Two thumbs up!

    I built a DIY version of the dual switch model using a PedalPCB board. It has an added feature - a charge pump to push it to 27V! It adds a huge ton of headroom and makes it sound even more gnarly.

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  ปีที่แล้ว

      27v must sound huge!

    • @hoover728
      @hoover728 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      All Hudson models of this pedal can be powered up to 24v, and the BC24V model has a charge pump that pushes a standard 9v supply to 24v.

    • @jorditoTX94
      @jorditoTX94 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had the same version built for me.
      The voltage switch is so damn good. Play into low headroom amps and you get much more room to play with on 27V.
      Plug into bigger amps and just flip the switch down to get into breakup sooner. Or if you want those "Immigrant Song" tones flip it into the low headroom mode and just slam some small amps with it.
      Also super sick that the PedalPCB is both Germanium & Silicon. Honestly it's like everything good taken from the Broadcast just got a little sprinkling of magic on top.

  • @jorditoTX94
    @jorditoTX94 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Man, loved your tones.
    The Broadcast is an incredible OD that does so much more than just a simple OD.
    From clean boost, to subtle OD, to nasty Fuzz that retains a lot of clarity and everything in-between the spectrum.
    I have a dual footswitch clone that was built for me by a local builder and it is a staple on my board. Once you own one it's incredibly difficult to turn it off. Definitely has become the main player in my core tone.
    What always amazes me with this pedal is even set at maximum gain levels, I can ring out a full barre chord and still hear every note. And I play this thing through 2 amps both set at only 15 watts. That low cut just allows you to dial in the low end to retain clarity, regardless of smacking the front of 2 low wattage amps. The Broadcast just takes it in stride.
    Cannot recommend this pedal enough. It's one of the best on the market.

    • @LeonTodd

  • @Paul_Lenard_Ewing

    It is cool pedal but it is $300.00 USD. You can get a 100% convincing clone. The JV Effects Transmission for $95.00 USD. It to is handmade by one guy who lives in Malta and he has long waits on key NOS parts so there can be a long wait. Really nice guy too.

    This is the only pedal that survived on my board post me going digital with an axe fx. I use it it at 18 volts for edge of break up into a clean amp, a treble booster, fuzz and loads more. As Dan and Mick at TPS say it’s the overdrive for people who don’t like overdrive.

  • @adam872
    @adam872 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I honestly didn't rate the tones. It's a bit too icepicky for me in certain frequencies and a bit fuzzy and brittle in others, when pushed. At lower gain settings it was OK though.

    if this is supposed to sound like a console being overdriven, then i suppose a good example of this kind of thing in real life would be the guitar solo on "easy" by the commodores. it's definitely got that vibe.

    Sounds really great to me, never realised how cool these are. Are these loosely based on the old germanium neve preamps, or is it a looser marketing connection? Sounds great to me either way, and I love me some Marconi knobs. Just curious if it’s Neve derived, or some other circuit.

    • @LeonTodd
      @LeonTodd  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah they don't mention Neve explicitly in their marketing but it's pretty clear what console they're referring to, along with the knobs. I'd like to know what's going on inside for sure.

    • @peterjessop1878
      @peterjessop1878 ปีที่แล้ว

      I used to hate fuzz too till I plugged one into my JTM45. That amp eats fuzz and makes pretty much any fuzz sound godly. It's worth checking out. Now, a rams head is a staple of my lead tone with my Fender HRD. Which is my daily driver amp.

    • @jorditoTX94

      The fuzz on these reminds me a lot of Tonebender's. So much so that I removed my Tonebender from my board.
