Military honours for Portugal's Prime Minister

Military honours for the inaugural visit of the Prime Minister of the Portuguese Republic, Luís Montenegro, to Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz in the Federal Chancellery in Berlin. The video shows the entry of the honorary post, the entry of the honorary formation, the line-up of the delegations, the arrival of the guest, the welcoming of the delegations, the national anthems, the parade of the honorary formation and the marching out of the honorary formation and the honorary post. The honorary company is led by Captain Burgwinkel, the company commander of the 2nd company (army) of the guard battalion. The staff music corps plays under the direction of Mrs. Captain Holzschuh.

Spontane Entscheidung bezüglich des Bildpunktes, weil entsprechend viel Platz frei war. Normalerweise ist an der Stelle immer sehr voll - sieht man in den anderen Videos aus dem Kanzleramt.

Ich spiele selbst auch in einem Musikverein. Mich würde ein Blick von oben interessieren. Dann könnte man sehen, wie das Stabsmusikkorps am Ende wieder in die ursprüngliche Reihe und Rotte zurück schwenkt. Ist so was möglich? Vielleicht nicht am Kanzleramt, aber vielleicht beim Proben?

I love the Guard Battalion, but as a retired US Marine Corps veteran (26 years of active service), it saddens me to see the new appearance standards for a unit that is supposed to be the best in the Bundeswehr - greeting heads of state - and now wearing beards. The Prussian manual of arms (drill movements) are very sloppy anymore - they used to be much tighter - even just a few years ago. They sound like a machine gun, instead of sounding together. I'm very, very disappointed. Many of the beards look sloppy. I was born in Germany - maybe I'm old fashioned, and I know that they are doing this to attract more recruits. But to lower appearance standards is just the wrong thing to do in the military. Remember, the old Roman Legions always believed that they had to look as good on parade as they did on the battle field. This is just my opinion and I'm firm in those beliefs. What good is to have nice looking uniforms, when the people wearing them look unshaven - and again, there to greet heads of state?

I belive you have a wrong imagine of the Prussian army. There beards was allowed until 1915...

Warum bei den einzelnen Waffengattungen nur noch 7x3 Formationen statt 10x3 Formationen, wie normalerweise auf der Gartenseite von Schloss Bellevue o. beim Kanzleramt üblich? Sparmaßnahmen o. Personalmangel...?😊
