I’m glad to see Raw Thrills porting another arcade game. They usually never do and for good reason with what you’re saying about arcade ports and ROI. Hopefully it’ll be as good as Cruis’n Blast!
From what I understand, Raw Thrills doesn't like porting their arcade to consoles because consoles hurt their arcade business. So does this mean that the other copyright holders of TMNT are pushing for a console release? Similar to how Nintendo pushed for Cruisin Blast on the Switch. Since Nintendo owns the "Cruisin" brand.
Looks cool. I mean its no 90s TMNT beat em ups but I'll definitely try out this version as a TMNT fan. I hope it has online which cruis'n blast lacked. Fingers crossed!
dude as soon as I saw a notification about this being ported to consoles I freaked out I’m so hyped for April 23rd I played this game at my local bowling alley now I can play it at my home for my console
Regarding you mentioning about there being no difference between Arcade and home releases apart from maybe special controls etc. It's crazy to think now that we used to have a massive gulf between visuals of cabs ported to systems like the Spectrum and Commodore 64!! The C64 versions of Cisco Heat, Street Fighter 2, Outrun are particularly dismal...
Are the other copyright holders of TMNT pushing for this console release? Similar to Nintendo pushing for a Switch console release of Cruisin Blast? Raw Thrills doesn't usually like porting from what I see. So it must be the other copyrights holders pushing it.
Keep in mind that console ports tend to kill profits for arcade operators. I generally look at 2 years before it should be done or later if its still earning.
Unfortunately if you go to the trailers on TH-cam you'll see that a majority of comments have harsh criticism on the game, either by judging visuals, or just saying that they didn't like the 2012 series in general. For this reason I'm thinking this home port won't sell very well....
Since im still running this game at my fec, im a tad dissappointed. As a fan, i will love owning this game on switch. I think its been enough time. For us this game has really started to pickup in revenue the last two years.
Mine seemed to drop when I brought Minecraft in...but yeah, going to be time to lower the price. It would be nice if someone created a conversion kit for TMNT cabs...
For anyone looking of a review and full direct capture of the original arcade game: th-cam.com/video/l5sdxueHKMk/w-d-xo.html
