Your guide , cute as she is , doesn't know much about Belgrade history (one of the oldest settlements in Europe , over 2300 years old). Building that she called embassy of Albania is called palace Albania and has nothing to do with embassy (something about WW I) . It was , when it was finished. some time before WW II the tallest building in Balkans. The "government building " is actually Serbian parliament (used to be Yugoslavian parliament) . Across the street , where all athlete homecoming welcome events are happening - it was an old Royal court . Despite the signs in front of church , you can film inside , as long as you are respectful (there are tons of videos from churches in Belgrade and Serbia , or monasteries). You haven't , basically ,moved from city center and there are a lot of other stuff to see and experience (mostly for free , besides museums , which charge a fee for an entrance). You've missed national museum , which is just behind the stage with kids dancing. Anyway , Club/bar/kafana scene is insane in Belgrade , but the girl(s) weren't very experienced in that sphere of Belgrade life . I'm hoping you had fun here .
@youngman194 Typing mstake - missing BC . Actually , first time settlement on the place where modern fortress is sitting , was made in 320 BC by some Roman historic resources. It is claimed that was a Celtic (Skythian) fotified settlement , made of white (light coloured) sand stone , by the name of Singhidunum (white city - which is the current name). Some of those stones still exsist within the fortress (and around) , below and mixed with Roman walls. Of course , back than , the city was not what it is today - probably less than 10 000 people. In broader area , some 12 km down the Danube river , there are reminance of much older Vinca (Vincha) civilisation , or culture (google it). So yes it is pretty old town and one part of it , across the river , called Zemun (which used to be separate town) is about 50 years older.
Thanks for the info! I did go to other areas and visited the national museum too actually, obviously I'm not going to put everything into this video. Nightlife there was fun but unfortunately can't get into most places without a reservation
@@youngman194 brooo seriously??? Heard for AC, BC? And it is around 3000 since the first settlment was founded where today's Belgrade is standing (I think Galic tribes were at that time on balkans among others)
