What an awesome song to react to! Jimmy and Cold Chisel always sang for the Working Class Australian and as you know Jimmy himself came from very humble beginnings. Good news - he’s going home from hospital tomorrow! Merry Christmas everyone 🎄
When you have had a rough day listening to a bit of Jimmy/ Chisel is always a good thing! Wherever you are in the world, have a cracking Christmas. Keep up the awesome reactions Texas Love.
Thank you for playing this.I had never taken much notice of it before. But as a mum , grandmother and older person I now watch my kids struggle with this dilemma . Your reactions are the best . 🌸
I accidentally stumbled across this. Never heard of this dude until now, but holy hell can he push that out. The harmonies too. Thank you for the video.
sidenote: watch a movie called "SNOWTOWN" 2011 filmed in smithfield south australia. [seriously watch the movie anyway you'll freak out] Jimmy grew up there and reminded him of his childhood neighbourhood
Texas Love, if that song struck a cord with you, on the same Barnesy album, is a song titled "My Demon, God help me." After being hooked on Chisel and Jimmy for 4o years and personally connecting to so many of their songs, "My Demon" is a song that i feel really was written for me. I cannot find a video but always worth the listen. th-cam.com/video/4eswIs-6CuY/w-d-xo.html
You should check out Jerry Williams version of this. Check out Cyndi Lauper's version. There are some really excellent versions of this song. William's version is the start of the revolution.
cool cover but you need to hear the original By Lennon . Stay safe out there things are going to get crazy we should have listened to John over more then half a century ago and we might not be in this mess we are in all around the World it's time for the Human race to learn how to (( Imagine )) .
Seems to be a lot of misconception about the middle class. My Chinese friends from Hong Kong informed me that in Hong Kong you are not considered a millionaire until you are worth over $360 million US.... that was the 1980’s. 1999 my accountant informed me that to be lower middle class you had to earn over $350,000 per year for several years...... consistent, not a flash in the pan. The gap between the workers and the elite is bigger than ever under Socialist criminals, but the worker keeps voting for them.
Hmmmm...this song is not so applicable to the Australian culture as we do not have a class system as it is in Britain, where John Lennon, who wrote the lyrics, was from. There are wealthy and poor people here but they are not classed as more or less superior, of more or less value, worthiness or intelligence. People here are judged on their character and actions. We have 'tradies'/tradespeople/ 'working class' who earn more money than the Prime Minister of Australia or a university professor. My son is a 'working class' tradie with a million dollar plus house on a beautiful beach in a city. He is very intelligent but loves 'working on the tools'. We have a unionized labor force here and have a reasonable minimum wage, though it should be higher. My grand fathers worked in the British mining industry and it was shocking the way they were treated. Our miners in Oz earn huge amounts of money and have the best conditions.
Right on. In the U.S. when I hear people talking about the upper, middle, and lower class, I just think of a financial bracket, but certainly not a character bracket. No doubt we have snobs here, but I'm proud to be a hard-working man, just like my Dad❤️ No insult on my class could ever hurt me. Thanks for the info, my friend!
Mate if you think there’s not a class system in Australia you’re kidding yourself. Class isn’t just about how much money you earn. It’s about expectations of achievement. You try be a housing commission kid walking onto the ANU campus and see how you’re treated. Or an indigenous kid walking into NIDA. Australians like to pretend there isn’t a class system here because we don’t use the terminology, but in all practicality it’s everywhere and it’s strong.
@@JoelWende Rubbish! I never said that class was about the money one earns. You need to re-read my comments! You do not understand what a class system is. Australia was founded because of the British class system and it's unfair laws and legal system, which favoured class structure, and which resulted in the transport of convicts. That is why the concept of 'a fair go' is embedded in Australian's values. If you believe that class is about expectations and achievements then you have 'shot yourself in the foot' in your argument. Australia is the land of expectations and achievements! Our education system especially supports this. Anthony Albanese was a poor kid from a single parent family, living in a housing commission dwelling and he became the Prime Minister of Australia, as have others from a poor background. My own parents were poor immigrants from the UK who came to Australia in the early 1950s with very little possessions and money and we lived in a commission house. All of their children were encouraged to get a tertiary education. We did and reaped the benefits of that with good careers and lifestyles. If you have lived in the UK, as my parents and ancestors did, you would understand what a REAL class system is. It permeates everywhere. The UK even has a parliamentary upper house, the House of Lords, mainly consisting of aristocracy! Your two examples are weak ones as others in these positions have been there and done that and done well. Why do people from around the world come to Australia to live? - In expectation and for achievement of their dreams !!!
He's not young Jimmy anymore. But even to this day, he still gives 100% all passion and heart...
Great reaction man 👍
Thank you! He is one in 7.8 billion. One of the greatest vocalist of all time!

That ain't true. You are not about to jump to middle class. If your working class you're just 5 minutes from food stamps.
